  1. ...... I'll note that if you went the realism, real world space program route, you would basically have to have an engine that was a perfect recreation of the V-2 (aka Aggregate-4) missile, along with warhead and guidance systems analogue, and also be able to recreate almost all of the rockets derived from it, and every other rocket motor developed up until you reach the year you want to stop at. I was just thinking of a version with the required science rebalanced along with Procedural Parts support to make RSS users capable of using this.
  2. Would it be possible at some point to make an RSS compatible version? Or at least one that's balanced to make RSS playable with this?
  3. Could you post images of what you mean by, ye olde style?
  4. You should make batteries similar to the rechargeable batteries currently on the market, so that solar power actually can do something, and we can make crafts that don't need to have batteries shipped up to them every few days/months/years/hours. Also, you can replace SAS and ASAS with CMGs, or Control Moment Gyroscopes. These are used by spacecraft for steering, but have some rather notable limitations, making a Reaction Control System and a Flight Computer that uses a small gyro to detect and maintain heading much more mass efficient for small spacecraft like Apollo CSM look-a-likes and Space Shuttle look-a-likes. Or at least that's how I would balance it.
  5. The first idea of yours is actually something similar to what B9 Aerospace does with it's compressed air thrusters. And the second idea would definitely be more in the territory of IR. I also think you or someone else should bring this to the attention of Matt, aka The Winter Owl, aka The White Owl.
  6. How would someone restore Battery Life? Or will Kerbals have the ability to change out batteries, thereby restoring Battery Life to the part? How does zis vurk?
  7. I see your fancy electro-magnetic launch vehicles and raise you an Orion drive. http://www.projectrho.com/public_html/rocket/enginelist.php#id--Pulse--Orion I win.
  8. Can someone tell me the maximum possible scaling in Active Texture Management?
  9. My current desktop is not working, most likely due to the fact that the site the computer was bought from not installing a genuine copy of Windows 7. This is after my laptop decided to die. EDIT: Now trying to recreate Matt's KSP Rescaled. Fingers crossed! Also, I might end up adding some parts from NovaPunch. EDIT 2: Hey Matt, what your computer like? (RAM amount, proccessor, and such like that) Also, does anyone know if it's possible to run KSP on 2 gigs of RAM or less? And how much will I have to turn ATM up to achieve this?
  10. When I play (or rather played, due to my laptop dying) RSS, I don't even bother with the standard shrouds and just use the procedural interstage adapter from PF for an interstage decoupler.
  11. Copy WHITE OWL, can confirm link operational, mission accomplished.
  12. Danke, kamerad. Gratuitous German out of the way, thanks. Now just to get my computer up and running again.
  13. Will we see a mother ship that winds up becoming the core of a station around Laythe? It just seems to me that that would make the mission cheaper, as you wouldn't have to send a separate core module up as payload, you just send up the mother ship, or it's first module, and that becomes the station core when you get to Laythe.
  14. *activate Portal Sentry Turret voice* Hello? Is anyone there? *de-activate Portal Sentry Turret voice*
  15. REQUEST A second version of the F-1 engine that is basically the F-1A of the AAP. (Apollo Applications Program) This would allow us to build more powerful launch vehicles for building proposed moon bases that were a part of the AAP. You know, before it was cancelled.
  16. Time to start reconstructing this thread. Mission 7.3: Constructing Science Time for the lads up in the station to get off their arses and start doing some actual work. Construct a Scientific Research Module with all of the available scientific instruments. To facilitate further research into how materials react to being exposed to space, you have been given access to both the Mk 1 Materials Research Bay, and the highly experimental, Mystery Goo Container Mk 1, along with a customized variant of the PPD-10 Hitchiker, the Mobile Processing Laboratory, also Mk 1. Reward: 55k if module docking completed. +5k if it has additional docking capability through the use of Rockomax Conglomerate's new 4-way adapter. +2k if it has additional solar panels to produce more power. Unlocks the new Comms DTS-M1. Unlocks Mainsail engine and Rockomax Jumbo-64 when complete.
  17. Hey Matt, could you update the OP with a full list of mods for your KSP Rescaled series? I kind of want to futz about with the kind of stuff your doing.... and occasionally use an Atlatl to launch a payload. I may end up re-designing the Atlatl 10 so that the first stage is slightly more realistic, but other than that the Atlatl/Dart combo (would be more accurately named the Atlatl/Spear combo as the altlatl was a weapon that threw an actual spear) is a brilliant piece of aerospace engineering. EDIT: Could we also get the textures you use for your tanks?
  18. .... Why do I suddenly feel like the Empire contracted out to KSC for it's AT-STs?
  19. It continues even after I launch and utilize staging events. Also, sorry about the tone, it was 12 am over here. And I forgot what the name of the Auxilliary Propulsion System pods that you attach to the side of the S-IVB stage above the J2 mount structure. Again, really sorry about tone. I'll grab the output_log.txt and post it ASAP. Damnit, I forgot about the need for the output_log.txt when I cleared out my .23.5 RSS install.
