Colonizing Laythe and Jool system exploration
iDan122 posted a topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Here it is, in all its glory, the Colonizer: The ship is made up of 3 main parts-hab attachment, command center and propulsion module. I docked the propulsion module(2 NERVAs) together with a huge booster to escape Kerbin faster. The 4-way node at the end ensures the mission's success-the 4th port at the front is for other stuff, the other 3 around are for base modules, equipped with parachutes, lights, gear etc. Note there are decouplers under every port. Why? I want the modules to land close to each other, right? The connecting node separates from the command module together with the habs. It has 2 small engines for de-orbiting and some fuel. Once that is done, the whole thing re-enters. After that, all hab modules deploy parachutes. Around 1000m to the surface, all modules simultaneously detach from the core. They land on chutes very close to each other together. During their slow descent there is plenty of time to prepare each module for a safe landing. The command center with the propulsion module are left in orbit. It can be used later to deliver kerbals back to Kerbin, or to act as a space bus and take them to other Jool moons, where there is a space station around each one All that is left is to land on them all and deliver my Delta Klipper SSTO to Laythe to carry crew back and forth. Once that is done, Laythe will have been fully colonized Here is progress on putting stations around Jool's moons: -

Yeah, this might be feasible, if vBulletin supports this kind of thing.

LOKI Orbital Kinetic Bombardment Weapon (8 rounds)
iDan122 replied to iDan122's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
They don't need them, upon entering the atmosphere they will point and the velocity vector thanks to its aerodynamic shape, plus each rod had a probe inside, so if you want you can manually point it the right way. -
I have to say, I was expecting Ender's game to be a "meh" film. In the end it turned out to be quite entertaining, with a good plot, a very unique twist and some very good spaceship p**! I mean, sometimes physX where a little strange(SSTO getting not orbit in 8 seconds flat), but overall, this is the 2nd movie after Gravity where space looked very appealing, and didn't look like that cr** from Event Horizon or Armageddon, ugh. Definitely a good watch, I would recommend seeing it!

Just tested this in FAR and the projectiles hit the ground at like 1500 m/s :0 -
Can't Undock Bug, How To Fix
iDan122 replied to roscoe_jones's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Does the bug from one ship with a faulty port "infect" the ship and others that dock to it? Because after my ship got one, all ports except for one became like that, and the station it docked to got the bug too.... -
I want circular ones or those that are seen on Soyuz's. Both are incredibly hard to replicate, and modded panels always look cheap.

I already made a Skylon, I must say with current parts is it a real pain, especially making all the fuel flow properly. Though I would like to see a pick Skylon!

I present you-the extra-long gigantrons! Basically take 2 girders, and on the connection point, put a flipped solar panel. Like this(go to slide n5) I used this technique for my Kvant-1 module -
(facepalm) silly me anyway welcome back!

Thanks for sharing it! I'll take a look at it. Though you didn't have to write my name in the thread name, feel honored anyway Have some rep and welcome to the forums!

Started designing modules for my MIR pack, the core is now ready!(don't mind the huge booster, that's for sending the thing to Duna, yes, Duna) EDIT: added Kvant-1 with a small FGB tug
