  1. Missile Tracking is spot on in my opinion. Looking forward to the update. Keep up the good work.
  2. This mod is looking good, I spent last night making a BM-13 Katyusha, and a Patrol Boat. Can't say how fun this is. I'm looking forward to more updates in the future. Tonight I plan to build an Self Propelled Gun. Which gets me to my wishlist. 76mm , 88mm, 105mm Ap Tank Guns 105mm, 155mm, 240mm HE Howitzers More armor plating.... Thanks I wish you the best of luck.
  3. I've been here a while, I don't post much. But can say KSP has an awesome community behind. Welcome.
  4. I'm a big fan of rocks. Big and small. So it would be cool to go out to the Asteroid Belt. Maybe even EVA and get some samples. Considering these types of rocks are even older than those in the sub surface of our planet. The chance to hold one, for a ROCK GUY like me, would be a treasure of a life time.
  5. KospY, I was wonder if you have given any thought about the Tech Tree in the coming update 0.22? KAS in Career Mode would be awesome
  6. Read alot of good points from some passionate people. The great thing about this thread is we are brave enough to have this discussion. My personal belief is that Poverty/Distribution of Wealth is a problem that contributes to many of the factors you have listed on your board above. With the except of Climate Change. I consider Climate Change a "Force of Nature" or "Act of God". Though it too becomes a problem if we all can't agree how to face it. Back to my point though. I can't speak for the rest of the world. But in the United States there is a division between the rich and the poor. I got to see this first hand when I worked for the Local Government of my state. It truly is about how much weight is in your wallet, not how much passion your heart hold. At that time I was "Head of Maintenance and Billing" for our Utility Department. I've met some of the nicest people you could ever meet, living in some of the harshest conditions people could ever face. And I learned that it Poverty is not a "Black Problem, White Problem, Yellow Problem, or Brown Problem" its a global problem that effects all race and walks of life. Now I could go into the politics of who's fault it is for poverty. But I've found those discussions only cause finger pointing and hate. I can say this though. We need to start working on this problem. As it states in the "Good Book" - "A house divided will surely fall" I believe those words to be true. Because when man has united we have carved channels through continents, moved mountains, rebuilt cities and put men on the moon. When we have stood against each other it has been at the greatest cost of human life. This week as scientists Francois Englert and Peter Higgs received the Noble Prize in Physics for their work on the Higgs Boson Particle. It dawned on me. If two men could build and prove the theory of a particle that makes up much of the fabric of our entire universe. Why can't we all as a human race set aside our personal differences and work to common goals of improving humanity.
  7. I love it. Taking an "Old School" approach to your KSP Calculations. Keep up the good work.
  8. I would say yes. You could see the goals. But maybe not until you come to that part of the tree. That way, if there was an OP part that was many research levels higher than where you are, you just could not skip up the tree to unlock it. Also the Part for the Breakthrough could have one of those "Mystery Box" ??? Icons. As to not give away what you may be working for. I agree. An example would be maybe Discovering an Engine with more Gimble at the cost of lossing some of its Thrust. Or alternate variations that offer distinct advantages and disadvantages over their counterparts. In any event these parts would have to keep the balance of the game and not limit a player to becoming stuck. But not simple enough for them to farm them all out. Thanks for the feedback.
  9. I'm already a huge fan of the up and coming R&D Update. I can wait to get my hands on all the data and experiments. With this being said, my mouth is watering at the chance to really start playing this game as it was designed. "With goals and strategy in mind". And all this anticipation has got me thinking. How is the Tech Tree, or R@D Tree going to look and function. I know in the recent video released previewing many of the R@D updates. It showed a sporadic, root-like "Tree". Which I feel is appropriate at this time. I have no doubt that the Dev's will refine its architecture down the road. Again though, this all has got me thinking. "Are all the tree unlocks going to be unlocked 1 after another? And all using science?" If that's the case then may I suggest this to help add a little spice to the R@D Tree. Discoveries/Breakthroughs One of my favorites things about science is when we are hard at work looking for the results we expect or hypothesize. We sometimes witness something we could have not otherwise foreseen. Most scientist call these Discoveries or Breakthroughs. Now on to my rather DULL graphic I have made to help explain how this all may work. Now the goal of this graphic is to help you envision KSP's proposed Tech/ R@D Tree with my addition of Discoveries/Breakthroughs. Progress through the tree takes us from the Top Left Hand Corner. Then to the Top Center. To the Middle, Then finally to the Bottom Middle. Now disregarding the Red Line and the box isolated to the Middle Right. You could put any number of KSP Parts in those blue boxes and sum up how or what order you would unlock them. This logic usually encourages "Grinding". I'm sure most of you have played MMO's. And any MMO fan knows that if you want the best gear or items. You are usually going to have to Grind out long hours doing the same thing over and over again. In KSP this could mean Multiple Moon landings for instance. Which I have no complaint about. I find grinding to be fun 85% of the time and a learning experience to refine techniques. But what about when the Player has Grinded to his wits ends, what tasks/parts has he left to achieve/unlock. Well what if in the Tech Tree there was Items that needed special prerequisites to unlock them. Looking back at the graphic we notice that the flow from box to box is very consistent. With the except of the Middle flowing to the Middle Right. We notice that there is a boundary, or red line that separates the flow. This red line represents a "Required Task, Event, or Prerequisite" Now the question is, what could this task be? This is where the beauty of this idea blossoms. The task could be anything relating to the data the game is already capturing. Hard Data like ship weight, components, periapsis, apoapsis. Or the Variable Data like position, sensors, thrust, celestial bodies, and distance. One task that comes to mind is this: "Complete 3 Orbits of a celestial body, without solar panels." Task Name: "Battery Powered" Discovery/ Breakthrough:"High Capacity Battery" Thus the red line is drawed, and the player has a specific goal, independent of his normal operations. This also forces players to think critically of there missions and goals. Thanks for reading, and your comments are welcome. I hope people understand that I'm not trying to re-invent the wheel here. Rather just making a suggestion that has been seen in many other popular games. I also wanted to make this post as short as possible. So that I did not confuse or upset anyone.
  10. I think its just more than making a great mod. I believe its more about your ambition and skill level. A great mod would increase your likeliness to be considered. But I think its about who is a team player. Who can interact with the community and build it. Who can face there flaws, overcome and contribute to the project overall. Who can be willing to take great rejection from a very passionate community, and understand its more than a game to some players. I'm not speaking for SQUAD and saying I know what its takes, I'm just saying I imagine its more than just one attribute.
  11. My thought process when I seen this video. Holy Crap Should of hit (T) instead of (F) I hope everyone is okay Nuclear Fuel? Haven't they learned anything from Chernobyl ? I bet there is a forum thread on this already.
  12. About to wet myself.... I've always been in love with the V2 rocket designs, also glad to see your putting them to a more scientific use.
  13. Downloading now, was waiting for some free time, but I'm going to make some.
  14. I'm going to be releasing a beta hopefully in the next 24hrs. 13 Flags total. See you guys then.
  15. "Ambition..... Conquered That....." Lack, that should be your forum signature. Anyway awesome stuff man, can't wait to see more.
  16. I tried a couple of designs in yellowish gold, and they just didn't come out right. So I settled on a Gold border with Blue Background. My goal in these first two flags was to take the general concepts already established, and add my take on what I think would be an Awesome design. Thanks for the feedback also.
  17. Flags of Awesome (FoA) Dev Thread \May 31, 2013/ <- Last Updated Just got contacted from some Authors who's art I freely used. Regretfully I have to take this down.
  18. Not sure if there are any big fans of World Of Tanks around here, but there is a load of tanks with awesome track designs on there. Reading this thread made me think of it. You also might be able to extract some models from that game for reference too or totally import them into this game. I don't have a modeling program, but I did manage to open the folders containing the DDS and Model Files. C:\Games\World_of_Tanks\res\packages any of the vehicle packages in this folder can be opened with WinZip, not sure with WinRar. If anybody wanted to tinker around with it I'm sure they could then extract the necessary files to import to a modeling program. Anyway enough of my ramblings, looking forward to seeing some major track addons in the future.
  19. Just stopping by to say awesome addon. The hand painting really gives everything a professional touch.
  20. My thoughts exactly right now. The whole family even my dad is sitting on the couch watching it with me right now. I want Felix's capsule ingame after this. I know its not practical for space exploration, but it certainly will be legendary.
  21. I will be 81yrs old if and when the year comes. I can only hope that we will have advanced our Species enough to set aside our Difference's "Both Tribal and Ethical". In an effort to explore our vast solar system and galaxy. I guess if I had a wishlist, it would be: Man Mission Mars Moon Mining Research Facility (Manned or Robotic) Quantum Computing or Personal Super Computers If many more things happen I wouldn't be surprised.
  22. I've been on the net since I was a wee lad, around about the age of 7. In the year 1997. My first 2 loves in life where those Military Flash Cards you could get from National Geographics Infomercials. And Rock & Roll. So when I was in my Teens I came up with my first Screen Name, which you can still find me around the net with. :Comsquaddelta: Meaning: "Communications Squad Delta" After try the KSP Demo though, I really wanted to change things up and Blend a few things. First off I love Rock and Roll. Alice Cooper, Damn Yankees, Dire Straights, and Ted Nugent to name the few. So I thought to myself how do I blend Space Simulation and Rock'n Roll. Then it hit me. The Darkness There hit: "I believe in a thing called love" Has everything I love about Rock N' Roll and Space The Kraken, Marshall Amps, Ear Shattering Vocals and Various Other Items. So there you go I am "The Darkness"
