The new SAS doesn't "make" things easier, it fixed the whole scary shakey rocket of death and kerbals falling to their deaths non-intended function bug.

Download razer game booster, make sure it turns off everything pretty much (especially explorer) and run KSP with it in boost mode, gets rid of a lot of bloatware holding your CPU back. :-)

Ant aliasing is the killer graphics-wise. But seriously, KSP isn't graphically intensive, for example a low/mid range 6670 doesn't even run at 70% playing KSP, it's all in the processor. So even with your low end laptop, it's probably your CPU lagging behind, try lowering lagsbane settings

Just replace jool with jupiter: "So i tried landing on Jupiter but my ship emploded". Makes more sense, no?

To definatly make sure you don't use liquid fuel you're transporting to avoid balancing issues, they're also cheap.

Sometimes it's really fun to do it, not using nodes etc to help you. And doing it in IVA mode.
