  1. Could you post some images? It could save us a lot of time if we don't have to download the craft file and whatnot.
  2. If it pitches up without your engines firing, then you should look at your landing gear. If your center of mass is behind the rear landing gear, the landing gear will act as a fulcrum and lift up your nose.
  3. I'd say there's a good chance it might be because your center of thrust is below your center of mass. I'm assuming you're only using the atmospheric engines and perhaps the boosters for take-off? Can you add another picture with the center of thrust showing as well?
  4. What? You're comparing appels and pears my friend.
  5. Yeah, I was wondering where to put it, could've put it in Off-topic or Games aswell. Let's see what the mods think.
  6. On the way back With a jarring 'CLANG!' Jeb wake up from his slumber. A sound coming from the laboraties woke Jeb up from his nap at work. His confusion was soon followed by sadness when Jeb realised he was not on the Mun, but in fact at his regular job at the Research and Development Department of Kerbal Space Program. As a security guard, he was responsible for the graveyard shifts to keep the perimeters secure at night. Armed with a nightstick and a flashlight, Jeb's job mainly consisted of staying awake amidst the boring monotony of his work. Jeb knew that the entire complex should be empty at night. One could only wonder what created the sound from the laboratory... PAGE 3 OF 3, you may now post your suggestions! What should Jeb do next?
  7. And so it begins... Jebediah was always pushing new frontiers. In doing so, Jebediah instilled a great amount of fear and respect in the people who know him. Mostly fear, though. It is his tenacity, creativity and dim-witted luck that brought him where he is. The first Kerman to set foot on the dusty surface of the Mun. As the cold dust lay beneath his isolated foot soles, Jeb could not help but think back of when he was a kid and first glanced at the Mun from his bedroom window. A tear oozed from his widely spaced eyes. PAGE 2 OF 3, please hold.
  8. Hi everybody, In this thread we are going to create the (fictional, and unofficial) backstory of Jebediah Kerman. This is how it works: I start it off by posting two pictures below to begin the story. As the subject of this topic suggests, the picture are drawn in MS Paint and YOU get to decide what happens next! Every 'episode' of pictures I post is followed by the suggestions of you guys of what Jebediah should do next. You could base your decision on what you see in the picture or think completely out of the box. Either way, we keep this lighthearted and funny, so comical suggestions are encouraged. Once I've gathered a good suggestion I will begin drawing the next episode, and so on. Now let the story commence! POST 1 OF 3, please hold.
  9. I second this. I remember the dev's stating that they made the Kerbals 1 Unity unit (lol) high, to give the best physics representation. 1 Unit corresponded to about 1 metre, if I remember correctly.
  10. It is clear to me that the Kraken attempted to mate with your ship. You should be flattered.
  11. Well, it does allow for tidally locked bodies (Kerbin and Mun are tidally locked, just like Earth and our moon), but the process of tidal locking isn't included. Seeing how tidal locking occurs due to the friction of fluids or gasses flowing over a body (hence the name 'tidal lock'), caused by it's satellite (or vice versa) it's not possible to tidally lock to the sun or Kerbol with a spaceship.
  12. I like to fire a rocket straight up, creating a very elliptical orbit. Then when the ship enters the atmosphere again at ludicrous speeds I love to see the G-meter spike the red like it's nobodies business when the ship plows into the lower atmosphere like a brick wall.
  13. Granted, but without a spacesuit your bodily fluids boil off and you bloat like a blowfish. I wish to be the dictator of a country.
  14. Someone suggested this on the forum earlier: you can download DataRAM RAMdisk and use it to copy your KSP folder on a virtual drive on your RAM. Which means the files can be accessed faster. Only downside is you'll be cutting into the available memory, which is also quite important for smooth performance. Balance is key.
  15. I would advise you to try to make a station that looks cool, but also from usable parts. So make your space station mainly from fuel tanks. And feel free to add engines wherever possible, you can jettison them once you're in orbit. My last advice would be to have the structure revolve around one or more central 'pillars', which should be the extension of your rocket.
  16. You can always click the EVA-button. You will most likely still die, but on EVA your kerbals don't have facial expressions, relieving your conscience somewhat.
  17. It should be noted, however, that this only works for cabled controllers. If you have a wireless controller with a play-and-charge kit, this won't work. The play-and-charge kit only carries the power for the controller; the actual transmission of data is still done wirelessly. Aftermarket controllers should work too, like my MadCatz 360 controller.
  18. Maybe we'll get unmanned probes for 0.17. Eventhough it's very Kerbal to send Jebediah into a lava ocean, would be cool to have some survey probes.
  19. I hope the desert planet will simply be called Desmond. Or Desmund. Is Eve pronounced as it is written, or more like some sort of Spanish 'effe'?
  20. How is there a leaderboard without a criterium for ranking entries?
  21. Apparently the gas giants and the weather system are linked, which sort of makes sense. I think they will release some rocky planets and moons first, before moving on to gas giants.
  22. You should turn it 180 degrees in the assembly building. Then it will go the other way, gives you more space to drive (until you hit some bumps).
