    Past 50k!

Woot! Welcome one and all. Well done to Squad and the mods too
  2. Wowsa! Colour me impressed! Very nicely done
  3. Just to echo what Aphox said, this game got soooo pretty. Just the basic orbitting is now a jaw droppingly beautiful experience. I finally understand now why the favourite off-duty activity on the ISS is looking out the window.
  4. I say take your time, and enjoy the journey Hopefully will be going to the Mün tonight with a stock vehicle (which I'll be designing afetr reading the forums) but having fun with just getting stuff in to orbit and watching the world revolve below.
  5. Nice lander and a nice landing to boot! Very impressive, nice use of engine positioning and control.
  6. This is very nice, I'll be able to make the reusuable satelite launcher I've wanted to for an age That is as soon as can build something that survives the parachutes opening... Any chance for a version for the smaller capsules?
  7. I like this, it feels right somehow.
  8. The Surface Information in MechJeb is very handy as it includes a true altitude reading which makes landing much safer. Quick save in Munar orbit before starting landing manoeuvres so can try the landing again if it goes wrong. My own personal preference is from a 10km orbit to kill horizontal velocity as much as possible then carefully drop down to the surface. Keep a close eye on the true altitiude and perform a couple of braking manoeuvres so you get an idea how fast your craft decelerates. Then once below 1000m true altitude slow down and ease your way ot the surface. It's not particularly fuel efficent doing it this way but (for me at least) probably one of the safest and most reliable. Best of luck to you!
  9. Bu'... Wha'... Just how??? Seriously I'm impressed, those are some funky looking aircraft and that they fly is impressive in its own right!
  10. Your work and dedication has been appreciated - Travel safe and see you in the stars!
  11. Um, the bottom set kind of remind me of zombie flesh. Could just be me though...
  12. This plaque now stands with the landing stage of a (successful) resuce mission to the Mün as a continuing memorial to the bravery of all those explorers who risk their lives to further our species and take us all to the stars.
  13. Great to see this back. With it's help got my first (small) space station in to orbit with little troubleand returned Jeb safely to KSC
  14. Despite all the things KSP has been capable of producing I never expected an in-game nightclub to be made! Bonkers and wonderful for it!
  15. With EVA's and being able to see our brave heros I've been increasingly carfeul. I'll test things, piece by piece, add back up systems and safeties. Staging will be done with an abort in mind. There are still deaths sadly but the 'slap it together and see what happens' has stopped. Massive effort will be put in to keeping these loons alive and bringing them home if disaster strikes (including a horribly complicated Mun rescue mission that finally brought a stranded crew home last night). And weirdly, all this care and convern has made the game more fun. Treating things more sanely and realistically, that every launch matters, that failure is no longer an option, has, for me, made things so much more enjoyable. And when a mission works, when I bring those brave Kerbals home safely (even if they do have to walk a few thousand km to get back to KSC) it's just great
  16. A ship for those who didn't return: Soyuz 1 -Vladimir Komarov Soyuz 11 -Georgi Dobrovolski -Viktor Patsayev -Vladislav Volkov Challenger -Greg Jarvis -Christa McAuliffe -Ronald McNair -Ellison Onizuka -Judith Resnik -Michael Smith -Dick Scobee Columbia -Rick Husband -William McCool -Michael Anderson -David Brown -Kalpana Chawla -Laurel Clark -Ilan Ramon In the end all will be together, let their eternal marks be heard. Yuri Gagarin Donald Kent Allan Shepard Leroy Cooper Wally Schirra Neil Armstrong ...and those whom are not listed Simply beautiful, the right stuff for all those that had the Right Stuff but sadly not always not the right fate. They are heros all, a new breed of legends, of mortals that walked as gods, to inspire our species for all time.
  17. For some unknown reason this amuses me rather. Just the idea of a Kerbal laying on the ground groaning after a brutal fall and a 'friend' running up and booting him while yelling "Get up!"
  18. Wow. Simply wow. That was frankly rather beautiful. Especially liked the last shot as our brave hero jets off to the horizon becoming another pinprick of light in the field of stars.
  19. I liked the promo video and enjoyed the music. The separate track is good and enjoyable but for the menu screen needs a little more drama like the promo. Might be ideal for background during an IVA on a space station or Mün base. A 'we're here to stay, we've managed the impossible' sense of wonder sort of thing. Look forward to seeing and hearing more
  20. Good to hear you\'re feeling better again, can well sympathise about the ol\' crazy from suffering my own. Look after yourself man. Look foward to seeing your videos once more.
  21. This is exactly the sort of entertainment technology and attachment tech\' that I\'d expect from the boffins at the KSC
  22. Hey, as they say, any landing you can walk(swim) away from is a good one!
  23. Good show that man! Hearty congratulations to you!
  24. Holy Jeb that is cool! 8)
