  1. So after playing around in my mapping program using the Mün data, I figured I\'d try out Kerbin itself! I had to mess with the colour settings for the elevation as Kerbin\'s oceans and seas are REALLY shallow. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/12058883/KerbinSurface.png
  2. Oh no, I didn\'t mean to imply that I\'d collected the data myself. I suppose I should elaborate. I\'d first used the program to generate a map off of the CSV in the first post of this thread and was a little dissapointed with the quality as it only had 100 horizontal datapoints and 50 vertical datapoints. I thought this was a result of the data collected so I wanted to get my own and generate a map from that. As I was learning how to do that, my friend came over and politely smacked me in the back of the head reminding me that Surfer defaults to the 100x50 dataset and I had to change that myself. I went back and recalculated it for 1000x1000 and the result was the picture you see before you I\'m still planning on collecting my own data, but I won\'t be able to do that for a couple weeks for various reasons, and well ... .... I\'m impatient ;D
  3. Well, it\'s under 5M (2.24) so it should have been fine to attach, but that didn\'t work. It\'s a PNG, and weirdly enough it\'s larger as a JPG lol Tested out the link on another computer and yeah, the Skydrive is not going to do it. Trying flickr this time. As you can see by the file name, it has no notations. I\'m using this to keep track of things I find (and leave) on the Mün. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7108/7447652932_7e3157a7b5_k.jpg
  4. I cannot get the RCS to attach, even with snap to angles and symmetry turned on.
  5. So I just figured out that the program I was using (Surfer) has a default set of 50Y / 100X coordinates. I upped the numbers and I now have a very accurate map, or at least detailed
  6. Most Excellent! Thank you very much! I\'d seen the document before, but as the title was 'Orbiting our home' I didn\'t realize it had anything to do with cartography. THAT\'LL teach me to not read the fine print ???
  7. Greetings! I\'ve looked through this thread (albeit briefly) and I can\'t see any mention of how to get the mapping data. I thought people would be using the ISA Mapping Plugin (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=10324.0), but as that doesn\'t work with .15 I\'m not sure what\'s being used now. I\'d like to try my hand at collecting my own information and generating a map from that. I\'ve used the data in the first post in Surfer to make a pretty good one, but the data isn\'t all that accurate, only going out to two decimal places. I\'d like to do one that goes out to four. If someone could give me a heads up I\'d appreciate it!
  8. Okay, found the second arch just now. I jotted down the coords if anyone wants them. I also took REALLY accurate measurements of the inside and outside coordinates of the bases, but I\'m not sure how to convert that to meters. I\'ll check the rest of the forums and see if anyone has posted something on it. Oh, I\'m attaching a picture I took as well, with the HUD turned off so there\'s no spoilers Picture was taken with the camera plugin (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14009.0) mounted on the BigTrak (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=9404.0) behind MekJeb (for coordinates) (http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=14066.0)
  9. Um, I do have the coords, of at least one arch. It\'s insanely easy to find though. Orbit the mün at about 6000m at the equator and keep your eye on the ground. The arch will come by eventually. Yes, even at that height it\'s visible. If you REALLY just want the coords without the hassle of setting up a low orbit, I\'ll stick them in a spoiler, cause I\'m sure others want to do it the hard way. 2.425N by 81.461E I\'m spending a lot of my time on the weekends setting up polar orbits and scanning with the long range detector so it covers a 30km area on the ground and marking down any interesting blips. I\'ll be keeping my eye out for the other arch now though!
  10. I do know the approx coordinates of it, I\'ve been logging interesting coordinates as I find them. I\'ve got one arch (didn\'t know there was more than one!) and two munilyths targeted. But I\'m not sure if anyone really wants me to give them out as that would spoil a lot of the fun of finding them. ;D
  11. Never mind, I was looking in the wrong forum for help on this. Found the image converter!
  12. So, I just had to reinstall KSP and I start downloading my favorite mods again and when I go into the game some of the parts are showing up pink? Whaaaa? See cropped and rotated attachment for what I mean.
