  1. I'm horrible at orbital rendezvous missions, but I REALLY want to be able to build stations and refuel my spacecraft. Is there any way to add a "Teleport-to-Rendezvous" system to the hack menu?
  2. ...Bump? I can't help it. I'm getting so many positive responses and I want the devs to see this! EDIT: Well, that didn't do much...
  3. Even if those are ways to make infinite energy, the amounts of energy would be minuscule; not enough to power everything.
  4. I had a similar idea involving unstable noble gas compounds. Similar problem, though. HOWEVER, you might be able to use Potassium decay to turn Helium-4 into Helium-5. Banana reactor, anybody?
  5. Yeah, I like the texture. It should just be made a bit smoother.
  6. For when resource systems are implemented, you could take water and put it through "electrolysis," the process where you split it into Hydrogen and Oxygen. The Hydrogen and Oxygen could then be used in a special rocket called a "Hydro-Rocket," where you could make them react and form water once again, creating a forceful blast in the process. This system would work great for amphibious landers on Laythe. You could use all the fuel you had just to land the craft, then just put some water through electrolysis to refuel your craft.
  7. If there's coffee involved, I'm even MORE obsessed!
  8. Here are a few fixes and adjustments I'd like to see in 0.22 or 0.22.1. 1. Rotation of the initial launch position from the VAB towards a horizontal orbit. 2. Fix for wobbly command pod SAS. 3. Fix for things attached radially to rocket fuel tanks seeming to hover a few centimeters away from the tank. 4. Fix for strut connection points being at odd angles. 5. Fix for ladders on the VAB being near-impossible to grab and let go of at the very top. 6. Fix for cased 3 x 2 solar panels seeming to clip the case hatch at a certain orientation.
  9. In my original post, the reactor is missing one vital component: A magnetic Tokamak, which forces the ions into a torus shape around it.
  10. One of the scientific topics that I've been obsessed with is Cold Fusion, the fusing of Deuterium into Helium at room temperature. Time and time again, people have attempted to replicate reported successes of Cold Fusion, but (supposedly) nobody has succeeded. One theoretical reactor design is a standard vacuum chamber with a Palladium cathode in the center and several coiled Platinum anodes surrounding it. The chamber is filled with Deuterium Oxide and Lithium salt. When the cathode and the anodes are activated and voltage is applied to the Deuterium Oxide, it splits into D+ and OD- ions. The OD- ions are attracted to the Platinum anodes, and eventually break down into more D+ ions and Oxygen. The Oxygen bubbles to the top of the chamber. As for the D+ ions, they are attracted to the center Palladium cathode, where they actually work there way into the interatomic lattice structure of the Palladium. Upon saturation of the lattice, there are still D+ ions that need inside, so some of the ions that are already inside the lattice have to make room, and they fuse (this is the "fusion" part) into Helium. The Helium rises to the top, like the Oxygen. The process creates enormous amounts of energy and heat, and the only byproducts are Helium, Oxygen and Deuterium. Theoretically, the reason why most Cold Fusion experiments have had such differing results is because of microscopic flaws in the Palladium lattice structure, hampering Deuterium saturation. If this is true, we may be one step closer to cheap and abundant energy.
  11. GregroxMun, if you have a very large rocket, you would want to minimize inner-atmospheric maneuvers.
  12. One of the biggest peeves I have is that the initial launch position of the VAB points you towards a polar orbit. Normally, I don't want to go into a polar orbit and rotating the vessel inside of the VAB throws me off. It would make me EXTREMELY happy if the launch position was reoriented toward a horizontal orbit.
  13. In the future, it would be cool if KSC-2 was upgraded to be more realistic and usable, but I hope that the buildings still resemble the old KSC buildings, just for the sake of pure nostalgia. Also, in future R&D, perhaps you could fly to KSC-2 and gain access to the old pre-0.18 parts. The parts would be updated with smoother textures (still resembling the old textures) and post-0.18 statistics, of course, but they could act as cheaper, lighter, less efficient alternatives in career mode. The same thing could go for the island airstrip near KSC-1. You could land there and have access to things like seaplane pontoons, airbrakes, electric propellers and airship equipment. Also, if "Jebediah's Junkyard" is added, you could get things like garbage can solid boosters, welding torch RCS thrusters and other near-useless items of hilarity.
  14. Seeing the new ground vehicles drive around is awesome, but the way they drive is pretty wild. You'll see them careening through the construction areas, swerving and drifting in circles, nearly slamming into each other in the process. If there were animations for Kerbal ground crews when they got hit by them, there would be a lot of dead Kerbals. What do you guys think?
  15. Satellites and other small payloads are easy to get into orbit and are fun to play around with. However, bigger payloads are a pain. Space station and interplanetary ship modules are enormous and heavy, and require massive skyscrapers of two-meter tanks and rockets to get to orbit. For these loads, we're going to need even larger rocket parts on the three-meter scale. The same goes for spaceplanes. Those small wings just don't provide enough lift for a heavyweight craft, and trying to construct large delta wings usually leaves the craft unstable and pretty ugly. This could be resolved with larger wings. We're talkin' jumbo-jet wings. I'm not trying to pester the developers. Really, you guys have made the BEST game I have ever played, and I know that you guys are working really hard. We all love building bigger and bigger ships, and we're all excited to see what you guys will have for us in the future.
  16. He may be pretty old... But what about Leonard Nimoy? That would REALLY put a Star Trek swing to the show!
