are there any known ways to access these files that you know of?

Hi, I was wondering if there is any way to edit the skybox texture to include a more atmospheric feel? If not, are better textures for the land/skybox planned for future releases? I understand that it may not fit in with the art style, but as of right now, the sky texture is almost featureless. what a shame. EDIT: I apologize if this is in the wrong area.
