  1. Fuel mass. It needs enough energy to get out of the atmosphere and reach orbital velocity. Although the total mass of the craft influences the total energy required so its a carefully balanced problem.
  2. Those looks great. I know you made it to have the same proportions as the space shuttle but are you sure it has enough mass to get into orbit? Looks kinds small.

  9. Looking great. I definitely think HarvesteR should use that part as the new docking connector. It looks nice, is compact(unlike the decoupler), and fits in with sleek spaceships as well as rough russian craft.

  12. something similar happened to me yesterday. I hit the ground and something exploded propelling me at 500m/s across the ground. Anyways the ausplane is gorgeous. I\'m making a video of an interstellar cruiser with the ausplane as the bridge/reentry stage. I\'m gonna finish it up today but it won\'t be released until next week.
  13. Making them 0.0001 drag will help make it easier to launch. Also 3 mass seems kinda high. Until persistence or space station support I think modifying them a little unrealistically will help with usefulness.

  15. note that the cargo bay is on the top of the craft. During reentry, plasma carries heat up and over that part. It still is impressive that all the gear bays are fine though.
  16. failcan is a ksp version of that. Once docking is implemented and we have a persistent station in orbit you could create that easily.
