  1. Why? What is the source and context for this image?
  2. I saw one video where it was pointed out that it did not exist.
  3. Yeah, I'll admit I missed the reference to KSP1. I just figured that since this was in the KSP2 section, that we should stay on topic...
  4. I've tried several times, and can't get this to work in KSP2. Are we sure this is possible?
  5. Still not too late for it to be cancelled.
  6. I wish I could have more seafood, but my youngest decided that he will just stop breathing if he eats it.
  7. Running KSP on a NASA computer was actually pretty bad.
  8. Well, someone just got this one stuck in my head again. Just following orders to drag it back to the surface.
  9. "Having a blast" is what they're terrified of.
  10. Correct. 0.9 is 90% of 1. 0.999... however, is not the same thing. It's 1. Insisting that being wrong is correct does not make you correct. No, it's 1.
  11. Without getting into specifics that might lead things into political discussions (any conversation about what groups of people should do is, by definition, politics), try to find local groups that you can work with to solve what you see as the issues that need to be dealt with. Spreading effort out amongst a group is going to be a lot easier than trying to do anything yourself, and we are a social species after all. Struggling by yourself against what seems like overwhelming odds is only going to lead to frustration. Start small, local, and slow to build up a community, and don't worry about trying to change everything all at once. Find allies that will work with you not necessarily to reach your goals, but a goal that everyone can accept.
  12. If 3 == "no", then 2 cannot be answered. 2 is a required response, therefore the poll is invalid. But 0.99... does equal 1.
  13. Yes. Do you actually have any? Exactly, yet you keep pounding it as though it's the only possible explanation, discarding any other possible explanations. Many, but you keep throwing them out, because they don't fit your preconceptions. "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence", or something. Burden of proof is yours. Further, plenty of valid ideas have been presented, but again, you keep throwing them out, because they don't fit your preconceptions. Seems to be the running theme of your posts here. Frankly, if you don't understand why or how the X-37B could be used for anything other than your pet theory, it simply points to a lack of imagination of your part.
  14. Seriously, aside from "with a big enough hammer, I can fit this peg into whatever hole I find", do you have any real evidence that makes your hypothesis any better than the many proposed alternatives that have been posted?
  15. Oh, I see what the problem is. You're thinking the X-37B is a satellite! It's not, it's actually a space plane, so it kind of needs the wings and stuff do do it's job. As for how bad it is for the space plane to be in space, it's been there for three times as long as shuttle was, and it ain't broke yet. So... I guess somebody knows what they're doing with the thing? Like returning the payload and vehicle from orbit? What's the other solution to that? They haven't been testing it, they've been using it.
  16. My car has an engine, which doesn't make any sense. Since my car sits in a parking space 95% of the time, it shouldn't have an engine that it's not using. Makes more sense that I should just get a new engine every time I need to drive, and throw it away when I'm done. Unless I am using my car to transport a large beagle, which is the only thing it could be used for, since a beagle is one of the many things that will fit in my car and might need to be transported.
  17. The point of the X-37B isn't how many launches or payload per year. It's the 3770 days spent on missions, compared to 1330 days for shuttle. 1330 / 25 = 53.2 d/y vs. 3770 / 12 = 314.166 days per year
  18. It does make the countdown much more exciting, doesn't it?
  19. It would indeed be strange if every maternity ward was on the top floor of the hospital, and had skylights. Or no ceilings. Very strange implications for c-section births, as well. Not sure I trust those ORs. While kids are getting online at younger ages than in the past, I'm still not sure I'd be visiting the newborn section of the forum.
  20. But you either have to carry all the foodmass, or resupply it somewhere. Growing plants requires supplies, energy, and time.1 And laws of conservation of mass and energy plus entropy mean that you're getting less usable energy and mass out of the system than you feed into it. Again, you have to consider if this is actually worth it, or just done for cool factor. 1Why bother growing plants to feed fuelbeast in the first place? That's inefficient. Just make a creature that you feed whatever you would use to grow the plant mass, and excretes pure rocket fuel as waste.
  21. So instead of just hauling around rocket fuel, you're hauling around something to make rocket fuel and everything you need to keep it alive, which would require more energy/mass than just hauling the fuel. What's the advantage, beyond being able to scream "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD ENGINE!"?
  22. I was recently given nearly a half gallon of syrup from the local farm near where my mother's family grew up. I figured I couldn't drink it all straight, of course.
  23. The ones I have were not easy to open in such a way. Just a large cut on one. Not really deep, though; it's more parallel to the surface. But it's the one I use to operate my phone and the spacebar. And I keep hitting it against things.
  24. A selection of observations of the day: 1. Replacing the simple syrup in a whiskey sour with maple syrup is good, but it really needs a reduction in lemon juice. 2. You never really notice how important thumbs are. 3. Band aids should really be made to be opened more easily with one hand. 4. When cleaning a blade, you should really pay attention to where the edge is in relation to your anatomy.
