  1. Do you know how to use maneuver nodes? You can always check and mess around with your burn before you actually go ahead and do it until you get an intercept. That is how I always burn for the mun (you can watch the entire video if you like, but I didn't do a commentary and it's not very professionally done. I also ballsed up my return burn, it should have been much further around. Didn't matter but still).
  2. There is also some bug I've noticed where the navball arrow is unclickable (the game acts like your cursor is many pixels above it's actual location). Another way to bring it up is to hit "." on your numberpad (make sure numlock is on)
  3. Except that interplanetary travel can take well over a minute at max time warp. 1 minute x 100,000 = 69 1/2 days. And you have to consider you won't be able to do a direct trajectory (because waiting for the planets to align would take even longer).
  4. I do not want an AI controlled rival and there's no need to make separate parts. I would however like the ability to create several separate campaign saves that exist within the same universe. Right now I do my own RP space races in sandbox mode on a single save and this wouldn't be feasible on a single campaign given the limited budget (which I want since right now both/all "programs" get unlimited funding which takes a little of the impact away from failures and things). Although A simple cost count of a rocket in sandbox mode would also be fine and I can RP my own funding. I guess it depends how the campaign is going to work.
  5. Playclaw is pretty good if you don't mind a small watermark floating on your screen with the free version.
  6. Well, in reality I'd wonder who's life I magically teleported in to.
  7. Well the friend does what I said the GomD would do in the comment before obviously. If that makes any difference to your post. >.>
  8. This is a bad solution imo. The fact that orbits vibrate when they shouldn't means there's a problem in the simulation that should be fixed I suppose (they didn't used to behave this way, orbits used to be stable) rather than a ham fisted forced "solution" that merely covers up the problem. Of course I don't know exactly what is causing it so I don't know how easy or hard that might be.
  9. Oh, I missed the friend thing. Well get the friend to take the car and the girl of my dreams can come with me on the bus.
  10. Tell the GomD to take the car and the woman to hospital then go home and I take the bus. Though I think the GomD would not mind waiting for me to take a pregnant woman to hospital.
  11. I have now decided to name my next ship the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
  12. I did in the past, it taught me about gravity turns and such. Then some update came along a while back and I decided to do a clean install with no mods and I haven't needed it since.
  13. I want a lot of the changes and additions in BNW, but its emphasis on city states means I will not purchase it. I hate city states and think they are the weakest new addition to gameplay generally. It'd be ok if they were a minor part of the game but they aren't, and making them an even more major part would ruin the game for me.
  14. imo the entire game is based around "winning", which completely misses the point of the series.
  15. Well my duna one had a kerbalish mishap when the parachute + thrust stage seperated from the rest of the ship before said seperation was planned. The emergency lithobraking was not sufficient to preserve the rover well enough to be driven around. However, as a consolation prize we sent another one to the mun and here is it taking a corner downhill at >10m/s: http://puu.sh/4E7L5 (ignore skype, seldon is always ruining my KSP pics. >.>) http://puu.sh/4E7LB It remains stable to at least 15m/s in a straight line and maybe more (making a turn at the above speeds requires caution but isn't too hard) and is pretty stable if you happen to break a wheel or two. It's also stable under braking (indeed, if you feel things getting out of control it's almost always recoverable due to this).
  16. It may come as work on career mode progresses. We can only hope.
  17. My rover works fine. I'm sending one to duna (it's on it's way) so I'll let you know how it performs there. Don't drive so fast that you lose control. My design goes fast enough without flipping.
  18. I wasn't sure where to put this and I am just assuming it can be done so... Well I sent a probe to duna, I retracted the solar panels for aero braking and then I... forgot to extend them again. The game has already saved itself and I'm wondering what I can do to recharge the battery now since I don't want to abandon the mission over such a stupid thing (which I always seem to do by the way... I sometimes think it would be nice if the panels would auto-extend at 0.01 charge just for numpties like me, but that's another discussion). So yeah, how do I do this?
  19. No. There's a reason why you can't transfer solid rocket fuel and a reason why there are no solid fuel tanks. Do some research into how solid rocket boosters work.
  20. If the interior core is say the size of kerbin then when you're landed the gravity will be 1G (assuming the same core density) and you'll have a really thick heavy atmosphere above you. Obviously if it's bigger then it'll be more, but it's just a challange as everything else is. Some people who can't even make orbit might say the same thing about how "impossible" it is to get to eve and back. I think you underestimate players. Edit: And by the way, I would absolutely send a 1-way probe to it.
  21. USSR. It did everything first except one arbitrary thing. Not that I think anyone really "won" it. Whoever gets the first functional and profitable (not necessarily in monetary terms) off world colony wins the space race imo.
  22. Ooh, I do actually vaguely remember some newspaper pictures of the wreck. I don't really remember any of the news stories around it since I never really cared. Tons of people die in car crashes every day, I don't pay much attention just because one of them happens to be royalty. And I'm not overly interested in conspiracy theories either.
