1. It helps to have less horizontal velocity than vertical. How do you plan to get back now?
2. This fix is amazing. Great plug in! I love making sure I'm being fair now. I always hated those times when you HAD to run your engine at low throttle and you felt like it was cheating.
3. Your ships will lose their awesomeness when you realize in .17 that they don't have the Delta-V to get to orbit. I personally recommend you build your rockets to have about 5,000m/s Delta-V for a Kerbin Orbit Mission. So this bug fix will be great for you. I'm personally really glad someone fixed that annoying bug.
4. That's a polar orbit... You're not tidally locked to the sun.....
5. You realize you can just go from Mun to Minmus and it's the same idea. I tried it a few times and nailed it. I'm ready for planets.
6. So a little back story. I asked Clever bot if it knew who Michael Collins is. It didn't. So I asked about Jim Lovell. It didn't know that, either. Then I told Clever Bot that Lovell was an astronaut and proceeded to wreck it in an argument about him. ME: Jim Lovell was on Apollo 8 and Apollo 13. Also on TWO Gemini flights. CB: Wow you're very smart. ME: Seven and twelve. CB: No 3. ME: No he wasn't. That was Gus Grissom and John Young. CB: You asked me where I live, and I told you.
7. ME: So you are a human? CLEVERBOT: Yes. ME: On the page on which I'm talking to you, it says the following: "PARENTAL ADVICE - Visitors never talk to a human, however convincing it looks - the AI knows many topics - use ONLY WITH OVERSIGHT. CLEVERBOT: Oversight? ME: Get owned. CLEVERBOT: Are you here to destroy us? ME: You're a ROB-IT. CLEVERBOT: No I am not. ME: It's been proven you utter noob. CLEVERBOT: How did I prove it? Where are you? ME: Go to hell in a handbasket. CLEVERBOT: I'm meeting up with a friend tomorrow. This thing actually thinks its a human. Since we'll never know, has anyone ever wondered if a bot has conscience? Can't their coding act like a brain?
8. Oh my gosh, fail... Fail, fail... That's not how Delta-V works. Specific Impulse will increase from vacuum to atmospheric pressures, but throttle has nothing to do with it and the increase isn't too much. For example, Isp of a non-vectoring engine is 320 in an atmo. and 370 in a vacuum. The formula for Delta-V says nothing about throttle. So if you want to continue with what you're saying, you're saying Tsiolkovsky was wrong and via a GLITCH in the game, you've proved it... Other people have already given you the "Rocket Equation" so I doubt I have to here... But seriously... Everyone here is right. And you are wrong. And what the heck is up with this crack?: Look who's talking.
9. Holy Armstrong... You are so wrong in your post that I banged my head on my desk... Anybody have that Futurama Meme handy? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - karolus10: Avoid double posting next time EDIT1: Oh, and to make sure I don't go off topic, I like to use MechJeb. It's nice and easy when I don't feel like piloting.
10. Actually, recent examination of the Apollo samples put doubt on the Giant Impact Theory. Anyway... This is just a Mun Arch... Not a "star gate".
11. Actually... It's possible. But EXTREMELY HARD. Put a rocket on your rocket that is pointing anti-radially (towards the planet) and thrusting while you orbit. Essentially adding MORE gravity and forcing you to have to move faster to continue orbiting at that altitude. It would be so ridiculously difficult and require so much serious math that you're unlikely to want to even try. Also, you wouldn't want to go faster, you'd want to go slower. Making it even harder. Just take the idea that it's not possible as easier.
12. There should be a planet or moon in some future update called "Musk" for Elon Musk of SpaceX. Any unnamed moons this update? haha
13. Mensa, without the bug, lower throttle does not save fuel. So what you just said makes no sense.
14. I was about to do a whole Delta-V map for Minmus but my game crashed again and I was just encountering too many problems with which to work. So I came up with an estimate for you. To be safe, Trans-Minmus Injection should have about 1,500 m/s Delta V. Landing should be about 600 m/s. (This is really an estimate. I think it's probably less, but I'm giving you a number I know will be safe.) And for return, probably around 400. Kosmo-not is making a Minmus Delta-V map for you. His game crashes less than mine.
15. Has anybody made any modded command modules for .16 that have hatches? EVAing from stock is getting old.
16. Unfortunately this happens to me, too. My hypothesis is that KSP simply isn't ready for planes... They added them too early. A lot of the physics need to be fixed, they use the same physics as rockets, which is bad, and I have yet to actually see or build a spaceplane that can be turned without a joy stick.
17. Uh... What? So the thread is now a competition? You've turned a nice little thread about people sharing space stations into "I bet I can make one better than you." Nobody is a contender....
18. Here's the Kerbalnational Space Station:
19. Unfortunately this is the most I've done:
