Kethane Pack 0.9.2 - New cinematic trailer! - 1.0 compatibility update
khaine replied to Majiir's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
just a thought if you want to add Kethane to the tech tree without messing with Module Manager (from KAS thread) -
[PLUGIN+PARTS][0.23] SCANsat terrain mapping
khaine replied to damny's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
this mod single handedly revived my inspiration for KSP. I have been waiting for a map making mod forever, and the mod you are making is brilliant. And a feature like self destruct for obsolete parts? Yeah that takes it to a whole nother level you are my hero good sir now its time for science!! -
Newbie help with mods (Solar Panels)
khaine replied to Psycked's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Im partial to the Dynavolt p60 solar panels myself http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/showthread.php/10224-0-15-Parts-Dynasat-Satellites-and-Solar-Panels-new-parts%21-%28rel-0-6%29-Jun-11?highlight=dynavolt I use them to power my Ion engines and Zox sstems they have a nice deploying animation and track the sun and I think they just look rad -
read and tried every orientation possible it just doesnt want to happen, im not sure whats going on ive tilted every part (cockpit, kobra adapter, tail section), in every combination of directions and I cant get it to work at all its terribly frustrating because I think you have made the best plane parts available
-
This so much this the "SU Kobra adapter" is completely broken and unusable which is a shame because its totally beautiful I have tried every variation of adjustment and have found zero orientations that allow it to be connected I finally gave up and just trashed all of the SU parts the MiG 23 set works great though if you could get that SU set working it would be amazing

My first orbital station rotation and elevation movement on the dishes and self rotating solar panels building stuff in KSP just keeps getting more fun

I can see why people use MechJeb for mundane tasks, but I feel like im learning something new every time I play. Failing makes it a more interesting experience? except for those mun landings .... /holds f9

How do people get space stations in orbit?
khaine replied to metaknight95's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
This. Ive gotten some really big things into orbit, and having it all lashed together seems to do the trick. You can get a moderately sized base into orbit and beyond with a good two stage rocket with boosters. To get a larger base up you just need to three or four large multistage rockets. The problems is anything sufficiently worth sending into orbit will generally reduce you to a slideshow on takeoff, up until about the first stage is done. Due to awkward weight distribution, sas is generally of no use and you have to fly it manually, which just makes it all the more fun of a challenge, right? -
This may be a joystick problem. Is it old tech? Im using a cheap thrustmaster hotas, and it automatically recognized and set pitch, yaw, roll, and throttle appropriately, and all four are operating flawlessly. Its amazing how much more effective it makes flying space planes.
