  1. Try the two tutorials that come with 0.17. It covers orbital maneuvers and getting to the Mun
  2. Had a thought about the stock landing leg if you could turn that into a shock absorbing balloon. You would need to incorporate the landing leg module specs for the balloon model. For what I have experimented the stock landing leg, it can take impact speeds almost 200m/s even with it's low impact resistance value.
  3. Excellent work! You should also add the Prometheus movie ship to the projects
  4. http://youtu.be/EHHBWcE_D_E You can comfortably crash the probe with a long structural beams attached to it. Just make sure you aim straight down. The beam that I used is "Probodobodyne DYI Kit Strut" Anyway, great probe.
  5. Dishy, would it be possible for you to make a spherical outershell design with connection points on each hexagonal part that the sphere is built from. For the connection points, you would mainly use for shock absorbing parts when landing at high speeds. For moving the sphere, you could use rover inside it, making it much faster on straight than with the pod's gyro. You could also have hollow honeycomb-like parts to put cameras inside for 360 view.
  6. You should change this to something like "closest orbit with the sun challenge" where you try to get as many orbits around it and as close as possible.
  7. Kayaking4autism, could you post a bigger outside picture of that thing
  8. http://www.hyperionics.com/ Hypercam2 is free and records everything
  9. "shield" being as if any part of the vessel gets cut off or destroyed on impact.
  10. I think it qualifies, but I think I'll put this one to the 3rd category as shield being used.
  11. http://youtu.be/eBGtn3MHDzI 204m/sec with a small impact shield. I'll allow impact shields from now on, but I'll make this into a 3rd category
  12. I think I'm at max with this setup, struts open http://youtu.be/UbWrqqGH3H0 161m/s

    Let's push KSP!

We should push KSP to "Conan plays video games" http://teamcoco.com/category/tags/video-games
  14. Optionally, try to make one to survive with a random spin. You could add a protective layer on it which doesn't have to survive, but just the main part.
  15. Simply put, choose one of the methods listed below and record the speed at time of impact, height of drop and condition after the impact either by screenshot or video. Separate propulsion can be used to take craft into the desired height and then decoupled from it. A: Survive a drop with a live kerbal only. Hint: hitting a steep hill may help. 1. B: Save rover only. Mods are allowed 1.Aletus 161m/s - http://youtu.be/UbWrqqGH3H0 2.UBERDOMINATOR 122m/s C: Save a command module with a live kerbal in it. Mods are allowed 1. Lucidlemon 70m/s 2. Kmschr 40m/s - http://youtu.be/JdUiXS8O-fo D: Save a craft made with stock parts. Keep the whole craft in one piece that you intend to land with. 1.Jason Patterson 78.5m/s - 2.Generalred256 43m/s - http://www.youtubed2.com/watch?v=Ts57UQh1u7M E: Save your main craft with any kind of impact shield being used. Be sure to specify the shield and craft apart. Mods are allowed 1. Aletus 204m/sec - http://youtu.be/eBGtn3MHDzI Your welcome to suggest new categories
  16. Land twice on the Mun and back to Kerbal with same staged ship. Should pose some challenge.
  17. I found the required ones, but you could still list them. Also the .craft could be updated to support 0.16 of KSP. Great craft anyway!
  18. Could you tell the name of the the two required packages since the links are for the old forum
  19. The challenge I have is to make a rocket bend into close U or V shape as many times without breaking the structure. For it to count, it would have to be done air-borne and only in the full atmospheric level. Ideally it should bend at least 50% closer to the letters shape than a straight line. here's an example of mine, but not a challenge submission yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAaYu2LCG34 Post your best shot as in video here to be judged by others If you have a better idea for this challenge, please post.
