  1. I made a big thing for pooping out 2.5 meter parts: And a little thing for making kerbals poop. Who needs a space helmet?!
  2. That is very clever use of the cargo bay as a sort of aerodynamic shroud!
  3. Just tinkering. Here is a little shuttle: And a smaller one: And a SR-72 style SSTO: Space Plane Plus parts are just fantastic.
  4. I've been bringing a few of my older designs up to date. Essentially entirely rebuilding many. It's been a fun challenge!
  5. New cockpit is Awesome! Distinctive, and gives the perfect impression of size. I also love how the cargo bay opens on top and bottom, and has a different opening mechanism than simple swing doors. You are hitting it out of the park!
  6. Very nice stuff! I played with this for a while and here are my impressions. Things I like: The J series parts (LOVE them! I've wanted this part for a long time) The little adapter piece with monoprop in it. The flawless fit and finish of the parts The textures (blend well with stock parts) The awesome shader on the cockpit glass! Things I don't like The cockpit: It seems too scaled-up. It doesn't give the impression of it's massive size. It's a little cartoony, but that could grow on me. Suggestions: A J-series cargo bay with a wide profile. Hinging where the top of the 1.25 meter shoulders are. That would be awesome. I can't wait to see what you will do with the K-series stuff you are planning. Keep it up!
  7. Thanks for making the parts! As a spaceplane specialist here is my feedback. Things I like: The general shape of the structural parts the tail adapters the huge bay The animations on bay doors and nose cones The fit of most parts Things I don't like I'm just not sold on the cockpit section, specifically -The abrupt step on the lower section. It seems that that should blend seamlessly. -The side pod section interface. Again, too abrupt for me. Maybe leave off that part entirely so that we can add intakes there or place the special blending part a la the b9 fuselage section. -The size and shape of the windows. With them so big, it doesn't give one a sense of how big these parts really are. -The Stubbyness of the part in general. It would be more graceful looking in my eyes if it were longer. The nose cone sections needs some re-sizing / fitting work. There is a very minor annoyance with fitting wings to the side pods. The center of Mass is above the widest section of the parts meaning that the side pod curve bulges out underneath the wing when it is attached via snap mode. Very Minor, but aesthetically annoying. So that's my input, take it for what you will. Either way, I will definitely be downloading the final product! 8. That's exceptionally pretty! Also, very plausible looking. I love it.
  9. Just messin' around with the new parts. These are all Low Orbit capable slap-dash jobs.
  10. Haven't had time lately. My 0.25 install is barely touched! ...soon I've come to the sad realization that 0.25 broke every plane i made. Some will need small fixes, Others are gonners. Oh well, time for fresh stuff!
  11. I like the intakes on the sides. Very sci-fi feel over all.
  12. Bravo! Getting off of Eve is a nice feather in your cap. Your ascent stage is one of the most plausible and attractive I've seen.
  13. i'll start building space planes again and updating older designs. I cant wait for the new parts!
  14. This is really different. Looks super Scifi. Very nice!
  15. Yes, of course. It's about time someone built a space duck! It was a glaring hole in the craft submissions around here.
  16. I've always thought 2 or 3 different Landing gear parts with tweakable / selectable oleo heights would solve every landing gear problem I've come across. This would keep part proliferation at bay. Small gear (current stock) that stretches to twice the height (0.5m-1m). Medium gear (like b9 parts) with double wheel bogey that stretch (1m to 2m) Jumbo gear with double or quad bogey (2m to 3m) That way, when animating one could have the oleo compress into the leg, and the part folds into the same sized bay regardless of height. I have no idea how hard that would be to code, as I know gear is one of the hardest parts to mod in KSP, but it's a thought.
  17. Wow, O-Doc, that was a great read. Pretty much nodded my head all the way through, but the Pizza Box was a surprise! My method at this stage is to spam swept wings, but the idea is the same. I too, have wasted lots of time making something pretty just to find out that it is never going to work the way I want. This is an example: It was meant to be a dropship that landed vertically on the Mun to deliver space station parts. I spent many hours tweaking the aesthetics and I thought I had it all figured out. I found out that the dV requirements for that mission are just more than the ship can carry internally. Lesson: Make sure the craft can do the mission before spending 20+ hours playing with Aesthetics Good insights on the relative strengths of parts, too. I'd rep the heck out of you, but I litteraly just did in another thread!
  18. That would explain why I LOVE it. It kinda reminds me of this blast from the past:
