Overall Engine Idea
blackheart612 replied to blackheart612's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
What you mean steal? You making it? I'll look forward if you do -
I'll put the pic first: That's a sample LV-T45 I made. (Please disregard the idea of being able to clip parts first) I've got this idea where we can make varied engine designs despite only having one. Imagine when you can shroud the top of your engine with tanks/adapters. Makes engines more compact and new design. Upgrades such as nozzle extension to handle more thrust/ISP or maybe change performance on vacuum. This also suggests removal of the upper plate which messes up engine clustering. Overall just roughly an idea.

It's because I copied the pod config to the fairings. Kindly re-download and see if it persists -

CBBP, will you be adding RPM for IVA? That'd be cool -

For those who like it in 3.75 m because it's weird to have uneven sides: Here's a config for it. Clicky Beware that the previous 2.5m adaptors are no more and now of different size. Edit: I love pod mods, there is a certain lack of this on the forums. Very nice to see this again -
For example for mainsail: MODULE { name = FStextureSwitch showListButton = true moduleID = 0 textures { name = Squad\Parts\Engine\liquidEngine1-2\model002orig name = Squad\Parts\Engine\liquidEngine1-2\model002 } objects { -snip- } } I have no idea what to put there because the objects are: obj_base, obj_gimbal, model, collider I have no idea which of those happen to have the correct transform for textures and the others have underscores. I've tried adding them all (at once) and still don't switch.

Falling off inside fairings? Strut it! -
I cut the link to make sure dtobi gives me permission first, I read the mod's license again to make sure so I asked permission to him. I made this for myself (and a couple of requests) and overlooked licenses because I thought they were "just textures". CBBP also reminded me about the ARR problem. Thanks for the reminder, I AM surely changing that licensing. Thank goodness this community is good

KOrion Capsule -- First Mesh Developed for Mod Work
blackheart612 replied to Avindair's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I would agree to 3.75 too. You know, there IS a 1.25m pod. There IS a 2.5m pod. There are no 3.75m pod which quite sucks. Also, considering the crew it carries... yep. 3.75 is perfect. It looks awesome too Now I got some idea on modifying the Mk 1-2 pod texture. hehe -
I'm having trouble using texture switcher. I'm trying it on Mainsail and Kosmos Fairing. I get the module working, got the texture on the right place but I seem to get confused about choosing the right object to change texture and about underscores. I get the next texture button but texture don't change at all. Help would be appreciated

I asked for the go signal upon linking just to make sure. Yep, clipped parts. there are a couple ways to get a skirt. The best looking is Get an I beam Put an interstage fairing in it (at the top) Put a toroidal tank Put a conic fairing, adjust to make it look like a skirt. Flip the I beam vertically so the fairings are in the nozzles. Clip it inside the tanks, of course. ??? Profit! Now tell me if it flies well (I don't know if it does.) About fairing textures, let me be silent about that for a moment. This'll be quick

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind. Edit: Wait, you meant on the Stretchy textures or KW PFairing? Link removed because I overlooked some licensing with the Kosmos team. Apologies to everyone, it was my fault. We settled the issue and I am allowed to use them now. I'm grateful to CBBP right there.

Yeah, I made a stretchy texture using your texture which I saw in Chaka Monkey so named it like that because it has its own thread. Thank you for the great re-tex b ^ that was supposed to be a thumb Nozzle rings can be easily disabled but I'd stick with those ribs for now since it looks quite plain without it. Edit: Here's a draft for the LV T45. It has no bump maps so makes me sad. It's gonna be pure texturing.
