  1. I would have thought so, but it failed to keep the executable tag when I moved it to a ntfs drive off my desktop. Moving it back onto my desktop fixed it. YMMV, but it's not the first time I've had it happen.
  2. Here's a reminder for anyone using a dual-boot. You must have KSP on a Linux-based partition; other file-systems can't handle Linux file attributes and so KSP will lack the executable tag.
  3. The lower life expectancy of lefties is due to environmental consequences... we're more apt to turn into oncoming traffic in an emergency (pulling to the left is rather bad in countries that drive on the right)
  4. I always thought handedness was genetic, but it seems like it's more complex than that. There is undeniably a genetic component to it, but many other factors seems to contribute more than genetics. Interestingly, the chirality of the internal organs is determined by the uniform beating of cilia inside the developing embryo. There are interesting diseases that occur when these cilia beat improperly, which often also present with arbitrary asymmetry of the organs. Dr. No (of James Bond) had his heart on the wrong side of his body.
  5. Good to see all the stuff in one place, and updated. I like the SM-S enough that I had replaced the stock aeronautics with it.
  6. Neat to see you've taken up the challenge of the magnetosphere plugin. Does this mean solar/magnetic sails and electrodynamic tethers might be a future puffin project?
  7. The pack has gotten some amazing new additions since I saw it last! May I make a request? Because you're using Firespitter anyway, could you add a propeller? I would love to see your high-tech take on it.
  8. Don't let them get you down, electronicfox. You've got something amazing here and they haven't learned patience yet. Take your time and get it right.
  9. Does this have the capability to delete specific parts entirely? I would find that quite useful.
  10. Have you checked out Using-sound-effects-in-the-new-system-MOSTLY-SOLVED? It may have what you need. I always add the Chatterer plugin into my command pods config.
  11. Snjo (of Firespitter) is also having problems with custom sounds for his engines since 0.20. Seems like no sound is not a problem coming from this mod, or how you installed it.
  12. Another cool mod, SasquatchM. You should link to it on the Firespitter thread; I think Snjo would like to see how his plugin is being used by other people!
  13. Definitely looking forward to the conversion, Snjo. Jeb still has to finish blimping around Duna!
  14. In a very basic form, to leave here, we need to go someplace that is not-here. So, to escape the universe, we need to go somewhere that is not-the-universe. So, to find a way to leave the universe, it's sort of important to figure out where we're leaving TO.
  15. To be completely fair, KSP is a non-relativistic physics simulator, with ships that routinely break (our) speed of light. Maybe in the Kerbalverse communication truly is instantaneous.
  16. Be careful, the inner tanks will APPEAR to decrease before this point, but should be full when clicked on and when the outer stages are ejected.
  17. Looks really good so far. Does the drag on the intake change as it closes up?
  18. Sex is quite an embarrassing subject for biologists, because we don't know why it evolved, and more importantly, we don't know why it is maintained. Sexual reproduction is a massive cost to the organism because they not only need to find mates, but half of their offspring (males) do not directly contribute to growing the population. There are theories on why sex is maintained based on who you talk to. For example, parasitologists will point you to immunological models showing that more genetically diverse populations have greater resistance to, and smaller loads of parasites. As for the mushrooms, they're known as mating types, rather than sexes.
  19. Unfortunately, those parts are from an older version of KAS. You'll have to find the previous version of KAS to get it to work. Actually, if you are comfortable with modding, you could just rename some parts and make it work that way.
  20. Glad to find this again! You're doing something pretty cool here.
  21. I've been keeping an eye on this ever since your original experiments so many months ago. I'm very excited for the release!
