  1. Core 2 Quads are still good for gaming. These are american pricing, I do not know how they transfer from country to country. Here is the list. Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 ASUS GTX 550 Ti And a Corsair CX500M PSU
  2. Your PSU doesnt have enough Molex Strings to feed that card. Another thing you shouldnt run a graphics card on molex plugs, 1 adapter may be okay, but 2 molex to 6 pin is asking for trouble. You will need to upgrade the PSU. If you need some help picking one out come over to the computer building megathread, we can help you. Link Provided Here
  3. Well, i know the perfect cooling solution. You know how to contact me.
  4. It seems comparable to the EVGA SuperClocked 770 that needs high amps form the PSU. So I would say go with that PSU, It appears to be able to keep that card happy based upon the amperage needed.
  5. Which model of 770?, The Superclocked one needs a specific ammount of Amps from the main rail and its wattage. If i recall correctly ~43amps from the main 12V rail on the PSU will make the 770SC happy. That PSU should work putting off 48amps on the main 12V rail.
  6. Indeed, until i get the SSD for my next rig im using my compy with a Core2 Quad, Very Respectable. In other News AMD announced they are going to be making two more high end CPUs for the AM3+ socket. Read more here. They will be the FX-8770 and the FX-9000. The FX-9000 is at 4.8Ghz stock clock with a 5.0Ghz Turbo clock. Personally im glad they are not using a new socket for this upgrade.
  7. Without proper specs, of course all we are doing is guessing. But most likely based upon the limited info given, it may be CPU. Specifics are nesiccary for a good diagnosis. Ive had that model of Core2 Quad, They are very good chips.
  8. The engine KSP uses, Unity 4, does not offload anything onto the GPU. That being said it is Single Core Multi Thread, That being the upgrade that would do the best of KSP would probably be a CPU upgrade. A new GPU would only make games that utilise GPU offloading work/look better.
  9. Granted, You have a long and healthy relationship, until you come home one day, theres a note on the fridge. It reads "BEES!!!" you are engulfed in Killer Bees. I wish for something to wish for.
  10. The difference may have been larger in different version. It seems Intel has decided to take off the intergrated graphics and call it a server processor. While not having integrated graphics could be a problem, thats up to the end user. Changing boards/setups to get something that is slightly better in some tangible fashion is not worth it IMHO. Lets keep this civil.
  11. In regards to haswell, i dont think its worth leaving socket 2011 and the 3770K. The 4770K isnt looking like much of an improvement in the gaming department. Most of the people that have recieved Engineering samples have noted that it is getting Hot, Some have even reported cratering under the stresses of overclocking. To each their own, if you have to have intel stay with socket 1155 or socket 2011 3570K and 3770K respectivly. Now if you want to change to AMD i can point out some stoof, Let me know.
  12. It would be a little smarter to wait a bit save some money and build a Rig based around the new A10 6800K APU. It will be the best bang for buck build.
  13. Granted, Its too advanced for you to use. I wish for a Slow Clap Processor.
  14. I dont know about that build, you pay that much and you arent even getting a 3570K. If you can get comfortable with assembling a computer, you can build a Good AMD machine. The A10-5800K is a Pretty good APU to build a Good Rig Around.
  15. You will see that the same countries buying the Leopard series are also using/buying the abrams, They are getting a lower price(~3Mil Per unit). You get what you pay for. Semantics Aside, They are both Great machines of war with similar capabilities.
  16. The only think the Deutsches Heer had over the US, and this was back in the 90s, was the Büffel Recovery vehicle. One of the Few recovery vehicles that can lift its own Pac. I could tell you stories about how the germans felt about Our M1 and its variants, ill keep it short, They love them. Both are Nato tanks, They share a common main gun. The Abrams on the other hand has a turbine engine and some pretty advanced equipment on the inside.
  17. The bug just seems to be a little more noticible when you factor in the perpulsion system.
  18. Those are some beautiful works of Art. I hope it turns out good. I am going to wait for a Long while to update the Craft, If it aint broke dont fix it ya know? lol
  19. You go on about Bulldozer, you do know the latest series of FX chips are on Piledriver aka Vishera. Piledriver fixes all the problems with Bulldozer. I am very happy with my FX-8350, For the price you can not beat it. If you havent read AMD 8 cores power the next gen consoles. That means nothing other than an influx of money for them to get to work with(Estimated 3 Billion USD agreement). Granted they have moved into the custom Chip market which could be a great buisness move, only time will tell.
  20. I got a pretty good mod tower a Thermaltake V3 AMD edition. It has no cable management, so i bought a Modular PSU. Its an Ebb and flow of building a PC. This website is an invaluable tool when it comes to building a PC. Build the exact pc that Digital storm is building and see the price difference. IMO Mid towers are big enough to hold anything normal. Full towers are just Big and are better suited for someone who will do things like Watercooling or 4xSLI/Crossfire. Intel is trying to invest heavily into the mobile market, The After PC market. Intel sees the mobile market is going to net them more profit over time, which is great for AMD. This gives AMD a Massive timefraim to come out with their FX-10xxx that is rumoured to be in development.
  21. The thing with cases it really depends on its form factor. The form factor is what size board it can accept, Such as ATX. As long as the motherboard can fit the case i dont see any difference between the two. With regards to the Intel i3 or i5, specifics regard what exact model can influence a decision as well as what you want to do with it. While on the subject of AMD vs Intel. It depends on a lot of factors.
  22. Now how hard would it be to create sometihng similar to what the russians wanted to use to recover space capsules in hard to reach places. Any ideas if KSP can handle screw propulsion?
  23. Indeed. Benchmarks rarely transfer into the real-world performance arena. Sometimes they do but most of the time as you have said, someone will be hard pressed to see the difference between X product and Y product as long as they are apples to apples, and not oranges to apples.
  24. Fun fact about Early Dell OEM Peripheral Devices. Most of them once you take off the Plastic exterior are actually Logitech. I have an older dell mouse that i disassembled to clean and was amazed to see it was a Logitch on the inside. Same with this Keyboard i am using. Dell used to be a Very good company. Then they started loosing money and had to cut corners. I like to keep their older stuff around, Stuff lasts forever. I had recently aquired an old IBM Model M for my Rig. For those who arent in the know The IBM Model M is a Fantastic Mechanical Programming keyboard from the Mid 1980s. They have a steel backing plate and nice heavy mechanical keys. Leaked specs from the High End Ivy Bridge-E arent that impressive, You cant beat the Price/Performance of an 8350. That processor and board hold the world record for CPU Speed. Haswell can get to 8.0Ghz but the core temps are equivilent to liquid magma.
