  1. That would be fun. It would be cool if every planet has a unique resource (that get more expensive the further the planet is from kerbin) that you can gather and sell for money to help fund your next project. You'd start from resources on Kerbin to get a small profit, then head to the mun for more expensive material and so on. Also, the bigger your ship, the more you can carry back but at the cost of more fuel consumption, and thrust needed so you need to balance payload with costs (fuel + ship parts).
  2. Ya, without resources IDK where this game can go. There will be no "point" to anything if you already have everything you need. I know for most people that will be ok because they are having fun in sandbox, but I need objectives. There's not much of a career if there's no objective.
  3. At first I figured missions would be multi step procedures; You would get an objective like, "Collect data from Duna." So you would have to first gather fuel by making a satellite to scan nearby planets/moons to gather "kethane" (or whatever they decide to call this fuel) because you only have a small limited amount and need more to make it to Duna. After that you'd have to get there, drill up the resources, fuel up a ship that you put together and fly to Duna to collect data. Now that resources seem to be cancelled, it looks like the only thing you can do is go from Kerbin straight to the next planet then back again. This seems like it would get old fast without complications like resource gathering/management. What else can they do? What do you think missions will consist of? What will be the "meat" of the mission.
  4. ^ Well that sucks. So what will they do for career mode? What will "missions" consist of? If it's not to go somewhere to get resources for further missions and exploration that means it will most likely be; Start from Kerbin and get to point X. Then what? I see science getting old fast.
  5. Lol ok, guess I should check out the mods. Hopefully they will become stock at some point.
  6. Oh ok. I actually used that mod before (haven't played KSP in months) I'll check that out. I was also hoping that it could be possible to put together bigger land structures at some point, like a science complex or if resources ever get implemented, some sort of drilling complex that gives you a constant source of fuel.
  7. I don't know if it's a planned feature (far in the future of course) but lets say you fly to another planet, but upon landing you break part of you rocket/space plane and can't return home. Will it be possible to send another craft with spare parts and fix the plane/rocket on that planet? Or if the parts weren't completely destroyed will it be possible to put it back on?
  8. Ya, that's the plan. I'll look around the net and see what there is. Thanks.
  9. Ya, I've got slow RAM. It's 1333 (Mhz?) I'll be getting 1600 when I get around to buying more (8GB as well). However, since my mobo is old, IDK if it can support new stuff, so I wanna try and change that out first, which means I need a new cpu to go with it. After that I wanna save up for other stuff. My pc is also pretty sluggish overall which might be improved by a new cpu. It's either a new cpu + mobo OR a new GPU but I think my current cpu will bottleneck a high end GPU.
  10. Nope. Dunno what that is. I guess I'll have to take your word for it.
  11. Awww but there's no traffic here
  12. So I've got an old computer (about 95 Y/O in human years) and I need to replace it. However I've got other things to pay so I can't get a whole one right off the bat. I've got a GTX 460, Phenom II X4 @ 3Ghz and 4 GB ram. I'm a total noob at pc building so feel free to tell me if there's a better option. My plan is to get a new mobo: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130693 [newegg.ca] and new CPU first: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116899 [newegg.ca] ... and put in my old parts (corsair 750 psu, the 460, my old HDD etc.). Now I know the GPU and RAM will be very outdated and will hold me back but there's not much I can do till I work again in the summer. When I have the money I will get new RAM and a new GPU. What I'm wondering is; Does this Mobo have "good" expandability and is this going to be compatible with new hardware coming out in the next couple of years. I don't know much about PC building but from what I gather, Haswell (intel 4th gen) has a new chipset from the 2nd and 3rd gen (Sandy and Ivy bridge respectively) So I'm assuming since this mobo is new, I should be good for a while but want to get advice from gamers. I know KSP is heavy on a CPU and you need good single core performance, so as far as I5's go, would this be the best one? (i7's are a bit much, and this one can be over clocked.) Also, will it be a simple "transfer everything and go? I will be using the same HDD so will windows and all my stuff just be there when I plug it in? No need to install anything to make it work with a new mobo?
  13. Yes. To get 65 FPS, you need exponentially more powerful hardware.
  14. To make this game run smooth you need; an i7-9890 @ 27 Ghz 26GB ram (DDR8) Nvidia GTX 1290 Windows 14 professional 3.5 Kw psu This will get you anywhere from 35-65 fps
  15. I know! It's almost like this game is in freaking alpha or something! ...oh wait
  16. Is that video footage? lol.
  17. Here's what I used. I was able to orbit the mun while staying in Kerbin SOI (basically I didn't circularize around Mun.)
  18. Ya that's the button I used. But just to clarify, if I press that button, any data in my vessel and any data in my canisters attached to my ship are gathered even if my kerbal is not in the ship? Because I was outside my ship and pressed the recover button but I only got science for my ground sample that was "on" my kerbal and nothing from my ship. I had 4 canisters attached, each one of them had one observation worth 10 science each which were collected from various places in orbit.
  19. Do you have to be in your ship in order to recover the data in the goo canisters? I have 4 of them on my ship, each had data, then I landed and EVA'd. I then took a ground sample then recovered my ship; I only got data from the sample... At this point I don't have ladders so I can't get back in my ship, so I figured I'd take the ground sample last but it seems I have to be in my ship before I recover it in order to get the science from the canisters?
  20. Not this again! INB4 angry mob! Also it's done the way it is to introduce the game to new players. Manned crafts are easier to start with.
  21. What's the altitude for low and high orbits? Is it the same for every planet or is it relative to the size of the planet?
