  1. This thread provides information on how to find logs and stuff.
  2. We cannot help you if you don't provide more information about your problems. I know you're trying to be helpful here, but the mods the op is trying to install could be very different from the collection of mods you have compiled. Also, beware of the licenses of the mods, some mod authors make it illegal to redistribute their mods.
  3. I would just use cubic struts as mounting points. It might not look the best but it works.
  4. It's probably an issue with realchute. Try making the parachutes on the capsule bigger maybe?
  5. I wouldn't try the tutorials with mods installed. I recommend learning how to play the game (ie getting to orbit, landing on the mun/minmus, flying a plane etc) in stock first before trying to mod it, because mods make the game much more complex.
  6. I think stock LS isn't a good idea unless it can be customized and disabled through settings.
  7. And remember that if you don't have the tech/skill to get into orbit, there is a lot of science to be collected around the KSC which can get you to around third tier on the tech tree.
  8. You have five different versions of Module manager. While this in and of itself is not a problem because only the latest version will load, it shows that some of the mods you tried to install are outdated. I recommend going through all the mods you have installed and make sure they are all compatible with KSP 1.3.1.
  9. Can you provide screenshots and a list of the mods you're using? normally I ditch the heat shield with the MK1-2 pod but I don't think it would make that much of a difference.
  10. For the most part, I just do it out of habit. I haven't built a rocket without fins in years and most of my early game "sounding rockets" are stabilized by having fins that are slightly tilted.
  11. It's probably easier to just attach it using docking ports or the grabber. Or you can look into mods such B9 that add bigger cargo bays.
  12. Also, picking up a part and pressing space will reset its rotation.
  13. I understand that you were trying to help, but this thread is 2.5 years old. The game and mods have been updated between then and now. What caused the problem then is most likely different from what causes it now.
  14. So before, the standard method of getting to orbit was to go straight up til 10000m then turn to 45 degrees. Now with the atmosphere changes, you actually have to perform a real gravity turn, where you gradually turn towards the east as you ascend. If you can't figure out how to do it, there are videos and forum threads on it, or you can watch mechjeb do it. If you deviate too much from your prograde marker or your center of drag is in front of your center of mass, your rocket will become unstable and flip end to end. This can be avoided through careful piloting and putting fins at the bottom of the rocket.
  15. Kerbal Foundries http://umbraspaceindustries.github.io/UmbraSpaceIndustries/ All of these mods all rover parts in one form or another.
  16. It's because you have a lot of mods that add difficulty settings. From the screenshots, it looks like you're just having some GUI glitches, nothing game breaking, so it doesn't matter that much right?
  17. I don't know how to read the logs, but you could be running out of memory.
  18. I don't really see how the heat shield is too heavy. i would follow the mantra of MOAR BOOSTERS.
  19. I hear KSP music everywhere on Youtube and it always throws me off.
  20. Oh yeah, I forgot about that. But the "black hole" would still be needed to serve as a center for spacecraft orbiting the barycenter, right? i don't really know how the orbit calculations work.
  21. There's probably a way to fake it by creating what is basically a black hole at the barycenter and have everything orbit around that and make the SOI of the two stars basically nonexistent.
  22. If it is true... Happy birthday Scott Manley! fly safe!
