  1. Wow. I was actually expecting another well below average solar system mod... but man, was I wrong. This probably has to be the best solar system mod out there... absolutely no joke. This is Ay-mazing. One thing I was really happy about is that it still works with my other planet mods like OPM and Trans-Kuptunian. A lot of solar system mods make it so those planets orbit somewhere else... but this works like a dream. Anyway, I go an inspect the planets and boy-o, they're absolutely great! You did a terrific job modeling them, as well as texturing them. I did notice a few problems (like Crons's seam line) but other than that, they're great. The fact that you went into such depth to create realistic water (or lava) flow or chipping due to tidal forces is absolutely stunning. Here's a picture of the system and the difference between (my modded) Kerbol System and Cercani's. I especially love the Vassa, half ocean and half not. I think a small moon around Vassa would due justice. It would fit into the lore (after all, an asteroid/comet did crash into it). Would be nice to see some sort of weirdly shaped moon for it Maybe like a large chunk of rock. I think the only thing that I have a problem with would probably be Pequar's rings. They're way too bright and too wide. Maybe they're suppose to be like that, but it looks too... well, in-you-face. Especially for such a small planet. The planet wouldn't be able to hold such a well formulated ring system; especially with a mass of only 9.83E12m^2. Maybe the rings can be a bit spread out from each other... like Jupiter's. If I could make a suggestion for a planet or two for the Cercani System (besides a moon for Vassa): I would really like to see a planet super close to the sun. Half of it super smooth and burned off; almost magma. Landing there would be super hard, especially with the new heat involved. For your other systems (n2 and n3), I think a Hot Jupiter would be absolutely amazing to see. And if you feel ballsy, have a moon of that Hot Jupiter in a geosynchronized orbit so it's always hiding behind the planet, thus not getting burned to the touch from the sun. I'd also love to see an entire planet covered in water, except the water is about a foot deep... kind of like the scene in Interstellar with mountains. As someone who hates interstellar mods, this is gonna be fun for me to travel there using nothing but Stock! Yay my masochist self! Other than that, I can't wait to see what you'll have next!
  2. So... I upgraded my PC about 3 months ago. Played KSP in 0.23.5 on this machine and was getting 120 fps. Decided to re-install since it's in v.24.2 and; well, I'm getting 20. I have no idea why. Specs: CPU - Intel i7 4860 Quad Core, GPU - Dual NVidia GTX 780's Memory - 32 GB Windows 8 64 bit Premium The rest isn't important and doesn't effect the over all performance. Truth is, it's only KSP. I can run DayZ Standalone (which is known for being optimized horribly as of now) at a solid 60 fps with everything maxed, yet now for some reason KSP can't run at something playable. I'm wondering if it has to do with it being in 64x bit. I'm downloading the 32x bit as I write, to do some more testing. Regardless, I have no idea why KSP can no longer run to something playable. Anyone know why? Lowering settings has no impact on the games performance.
  3. I don't think you can convert Google Sketchup parts into nice looking parts. There's no flat texture map, or any bitmapping or anything.
  4. I fixed it... KSP was only getting 3 million ram cap for me... I just needed to add a launch option so it could use more ram.... I set the cap to six million kb... but I would advise not to do so if you have only 8gb of ram on your pc. I have 16 .... so it wasn't enough.
  5. For some reason I can't get it to work. My KSP just crashes.... I have everything installed, in the order you stated. Deleted the folders/files you asked to be deleted... yet it crashes me... too bad the crash reports don't tell you where the problem is... Also, not my PC. I have a very good rig (not to be modest).
  6. Can't wait for and 8x Kragthrea's Plant Factory Mod.
  7. I did state, I didn't want people to say this. Because obviously someone would either way.
  8. ._. This thread isn't a suggestion, or either a development discussion. People all over the general topic section post things like this, and never do I ever see them moved...
  9. Hey guys, Alaskafish here. I've been talking to my squad (squad cause we play other games too) and we were talking about career mode. Currently, in order to get new parts, you need science. And to obtain said science, you need to send out missions. This is a good step, since there's no real big problems. Yes there are some such as the fact that at one point you will completely run out of possible science (so kinda hurts modders), but that's not the big problem. Currently, we as players can speculate three things about the new features in career mode with some evidence. There will be missions and/or planning of said missions There will be a price for each part There will be a quantity for each part So, here's the problem; Quantity and Price. For quantity, you'll not be able to play well if they give you a low quantity. New players will find career incredibly hard since they can't "over make" their rockets. Also, price makes that harder because if you don't know how to send a rocket to Jool, and you make this giant rocket which crashes... you may have used a little too many parts. Maybe, you thought about that, so you spend less.. you later found out the rocket doesn't work and you lose the money. This will hurt new players if they don't know how to efficiently get to another planet/orbit ect. Another thing this does, is reduce creativity. Players like the feeling of making a rocket they thought up at work or school and having it work, giving them a sense of planning victory. But, if there's a fault or a negative effect on the player for doing something wrong, some may plan a lot more, which is fun, but I bet you that the majority of players will end up coping a design. Kind of the like toyota corolla rocket (the one Scott used to land on the Mun) . People will just say "Hey, I don't want to lose money, I'll just copy this rocket exact, and I'll get to where ever I have to go." I know some of you will think that they wont do it, so no one will, but think of when KSP is in Beta and you have tons of newbies playing the game. The only solution I thought of is that if making money, and parts come up often and with a high quantity. If you make tons of money for getting a satellite in orbit and you get tons of SRB's for that... I don't know... It just seemed like a problem to me. -Alaskafish
  10. Banned for incorrect grammar usage.
  11. Since everyone is making these topics... why don't I do it? What do you want in 0.24?
