  1. I remember a thread like this when someone else played - nerd cubed maybe? Nothing bad happened in the end.
  2. I've done that sort of thing before - I actually returned a Kerbal with a claw and parachute only - and probably will do that at some point in this version, once I get the claw. The problem now, is career progress is slow - it's a little bit of a grind at the moment.
  3. I suspect that I will eventually do that, but it does seem a little cheaty. I'd like to think that we should be doing something a little more with the junk. They certainly make a nice ring around Kerbin though, as they all seem to be in the same orbit. It'd be nice if we had a way to dock with the part (other than the claw), so we could build stations out of it.
  4. So I finally got to start my career mode game last night, and so far I'm liking it. I applied the fix to the heatshields, so my pods don't flip out. In 0.90, one of my favorite missions was to rescue idiotic kerbals who somehow got themselves into orbit without ships. It was fun and an easy way to make some money. The same applies for 1.0, with the added bonus that you don't have to pay to get the crew! But there is a problem. In 1.0 they are all in a pod (or so far what I have seen), and it seems to stays up there. I like to keep LKO debris free, and this stuff isn't even debris! I don't know if this stuff stays there permanently, but I assume it does (I stopped for the night soon after the 4 rescues I did). So, how do people deal with this? I could probably de-orbit it when my career is further progressed. Anyone else finding these pods annoying or have good ways of dealing with it?
  5. Typically the TV. Sometimes my colleagues during a teleconference.
  6. That's traditional Chinese, so I'm guessing Taiwan? I'm from Australia myself.
  7. That clip just reminded me of the challenge of building around the launch tower in the old versions!
  8. While I completely agree with the OP, I also think the thread itself is a little pointless - essentially just a "We told you so" thread. I can't help but think waiting 1 more month, while we play/test would have solved a lot of problems, but then we've been saying that all along.
  9. That was precisely the problem with Ion engines, until they got buffed. I doubt squad would ever introduce these engines because of unlimited electricity you can have in KSP. In real life, there is no unlimited electricity - solar panels break down, RTGs have a limited fuel, etc. I can't see any way to balance these things without making them completely useless.
  10. Except it kind of is. This bug means you can't launch stuff inside a cargo bay that is designed to be aerodynamic. I can just imagine launching an ion powered probe/plane destined for Eve, inside a space plane, to get it to orbit, only to find out it didn't work after transferring it there. I know I'd be upset about that. If there is a patch within a week, then it's not be a big problem. If we need to wait 1-6 months, then there is a problem. - - - Updated - - - Same. QA testing generates almost no issues for me and my development team. Users though are a different story. Last Saturday I was up at 4am to fix an issue users discovered that QA didn't. It wasn't a typical scenario, but common enough that it was classified as severity 1. It would likely affect 20% of the user base.
  11. I'm sorry my opinion offends you, but I stand by my opinion. I'm not complaining about it, but am simply pointing out that anyone who thought this was missing would also think clouds are missing. I had no expectation of clouds being introduced in 2 days (though I was hopeful). I do however have a problem with the way somethings are polished so well, while other things are very raw.
  12. That's hilarious! How exactly was it discovered though? While I can see it in the reddit, where did that guy get the info from?
  13. I'm not exactly sure how this qualifies as a "long overdue feature". I doubt new players would have noticed it missing, and if they did, they'll certainly notice clouds missing. The hype for this feature wasn't justified IMO, however it is a nice effect.
  14. Fix has been out for ages. Take the Mac and toss it in the garbage.
  15. I believe mechjeb was essentially ruled out of becoming stock when the devs stated that there would be no automated pilot ever (don't ask for a source, it was a long time ago). The problem with a thread like this is that everyone has their own opinion on what should be made stock, and you'll never get consensus. My opinion is the mod that gives you clouds should become stock, and KAC (mainly for the transfer windows).
  16. 1. The science lab revamp - finally a reason for bases and space stations. 2. Resources. 3. Valentina
  17. Damn hype! I am meant to be working, and all I am doing is browsing the forums!
  18. This must surely be correct. Literally the first thing I do in any game is go to the configure keyboard screen, just so I can find out what all the buttons are. Besides showing the buttons, maybe remapping them too?
  19. I got it! The navball is open by default on the map screen! Or this, This sounds good too.
  20. In my opinion, there is really only 2 possibilities for this: 1. Clouds 2. Collision mesh for ground scatter. I hope it is clouds, simply because clouds are polish that is needed to make the game seem finished.
  21. I've tried to solve this puzzle, but I am now stumped. I went really simple and just assumed FIVE was in the answer (because it should be), and got this: 55 66 AA 55 66 DB 4A A9 AA 95 59 55 E _ F E _ _ _ _ F I V E The problem is, I have no idea what would fit in the blanks, and realistically I can't think of a word which would match that pattern, where the same letter is repeated in position 2 and 5. Throwing this up here in case it's on the right track and inspires someone else.
  22. KSP 1.0 will be out next week. The last Dev notes before release have said how they are still adding features, so in my opinion the game is not ready. I'll be happy if I am wrong, but I suspect there will be bugs/problems that will be obvious on da
  23. Same. Personally, I am looking forward to 1.0 as another update to KSP for myself, but I still think it's a bad move for Squad and KSP in general. If there are bugs/problems, I'll be posting a bad review of it, without hesitation.
  24. First official announcement of an actual release date for 1.0. How am I supposed to work this week?
