  1. A kerbal Mach Loop. I wanted a high speed aircraft testing track. A simple-ish ‘standard’ one that’s challenging and quick-ish to fly.(I can get gold but only with a probe core maintaining control, when the kerbals pass out. With a high g capable kerbal and better lines through the Checkpoints I think I will be able to get gold.) I think I’ve got a good-ish balance. I have put some of my career save craft in for something to be available in the VAB. Although it is probably more fun to paste your own craft files in. Any comments are welcome good or bad, with constructive assistance on improvements even more welcome. https://kerbalx.com/missions/91
  2. Oh my the installer has worked for me for 1.7 it seems! Not that I haven’t tried many times for most previous KSP versions. Thanks for the assistance. Sorry to any with the same issue with the KSP Store 1.7 macOS Portable (zip), that this thread does not give more help with it.
  3. If you mean download again, I am reluctant as it took 2 days to download as the KSP store kept logging me out during the download thus I couldn’t ‘continue download’ as logging out removed my access. I have 4 partially downloaded KSP1.7s and one complete KSP1.7.
  4. Mac OS X: Open Console, on the left side of the window there is a menu that says 'files'. Scroll down the list and find the Unity drop down, under Unity there will be Player.log ( Files>~/Library/Logs>Unity>Player.log ) Console what, where, how? I have a ‘Terminal’ window open. After following a google search ‘how do I open console on a mac’. The Terminal window only says my login time from this morning? When I put console into help a yellow window pops up. The yellow window says ‘console - Control the console on system without a real console’. Um I don’t understand? spotlight Console File Open Recent KSP log then the pop up window says it doesn’t exist. I couldn’t find unity anywhere in the File (top left of screen) drop down. In the Console window I can’t locate ‘files’. I am attempting to download macOS Installer (.pkg) and will report back successful or not.
  5. Thanks for assisting. I tried some of the permission that are linked through the support thread above, wright and read permission to the folder to all is what I believe I did, but no success. Logs ?? What where how please?
  6. The KSP_osx (ksp1.7) folder that contains the game. The one after you un zip it after downloading. He he said it 6-9 months ago in an old thread I found on here to fix the same issue with 1.6.

  8. Playing the find the hack to make the latest release work again! As Wait for the Fix patch is a worse and more boring feature of KSP.
  9. Black screen on start like 1.6 again for 1.7 KSP store Mac non-launcher version. Copy and paste to and from the Application folder dosent fix it this time. Squads monkey head has been so not funny for a long long time! Ba ha ha ha LAUNCHER WORKING SQUAD
  10. You got 1.6 started on my mac store version of KSP with the copy and paste workaround. This has not worked for me for 1.7. Some assistance for 1.7 would be greatly appreciated if you can.

  12. Found it. JPLRepo said ‘So what you do is copy the folder say onto your desktop and then move it back to Applications again - should fix it’ I’ll try this in the morning.
  13. Im really wanting to play 1.7. A black screen for eternity as with 1.6 when i start the game. I dont recall what the secret cheat clicks i found on the forum for 1.6 are. I thought it was run the game then qiut then run it again but no thats not working? any ideas how to make Kerbal Space Program Store 1.7 for Macs work? no not the launcher version im an idiot and have tried it more than 3 times previously
  14. I have posted a Mission with Crew Dragon BFG and Mark Kerman stranded on Duna that some of you may want to try. It is a sandbox style mission with no restrictions on gameplay. Prepopulated with many craft in system, the VAB and SPH to use or modify. You can build your own or maybe copy one in from one of your own saves. So science the the kraken out of KSP and get Mark home to win. Anyone dies you loose. It’s on kerbalx https://kerbalx.com/missions/85
  15. Early days I forced my self to learn to use the docking mode because I didn’t know what the translation keys were (ijkl). I no longer use it. I would lose track of what mode I was in, rotation or translation too often.
  16. I am having trouble launching 1.6.0 Mac zip version. Is the installer the kerbal icon labeled launcher? It’s play button is greyed out when I open it. I tried moving KSP.osx locations as above but no luck. Any other suggestions to get 1.6 going on Mojave?
  17. Nice one! Lots more satisfying moments in KSP to come. Rocket launch’s, satelites and probe news reports will alsotake on new meaning now too.

When you get close click on the nav ball velocity box so it says target (make sure you have selected your target as your target) the nav ball will now show your direction and velocity relative to the target. Just having a guess at your possible troubles. When I found this out docking became doable for me. Cancel relative velocity(green retrograde marker), then thrust towards target (pink circle) and repeat but not going above about 5m/s.
  19. As I said shuttles are very difficult. Also note the SRBs have a lot of thrust and so they burn a lot of fuel very quickly and thus lose mass very quickly. With the tools and information given us in KSP a lot of trial and error is the only way to get a NASA like shuttle to fly. It does give one a new appreciation of the aerospace engineering required for the real one however.
  20. Could Ike have got it? Ike has a large SOI and the the orbit lines only show a SOI change for the current orbit. And if you haven’t already, check for it’s listing in the tracking station as the map view can sometimes make a craft difficult to see at some zooms.
  21. It would appear like the direction of thrust is not pointing through the center of mass. It helps to do so although this is difficult with NASA style shuttles, as their COM changes during assent. I find that having the control point also pointing through the COM prevents the roll and yaw inputs from yourself and the SAS from being misaligned. When trying to yaw with a misaligned control point some roll will also be applied to the craft, and vise versa. An extra docking port or probe core attached pointing through the COM can reduce this. NASA style shuttles are tough, good luck and hope this helps.
  22. Some very good points you have made there especially with regards to atmospheric flight. A VAB/SPH dV may provide sea level and vacuum dV like Mechjeb and KE. SQUAD is also not totally against caveats such as with phys warp. The engineering tab(I think that’s what it called) gives warnings about blocked hatchets, no power generation etc and this could be a way of conveying the imprecise VAB/SPH dV calculations. Advanced tweakables is the preferred means of reducing info overload to new players, since it was introduced, it seems to me. I guess we will have to wait and see. It is fun speculating.
  23. dV in the VAB and SPH is coming I feel as launching, liftoff, creating manouvor node and reverting to find the dV of your craft will be rather tedious. Continuing to love your work SQUAD.
