  1. Yeah, and it seems the ore depletes under the craft, so its not infinite. You have to keep repositioning the drilling platform. I think its quite balanced, the 2% concentration refilled about 20 units of fuel before depleting the ore under the craft. That is not cost effective by any means, since the refinery and all the drilling equipment is really heavy.
  2. Except you wouldn't. During reentry you expect overheating and design for that. I was thinking more of overheating fuel tanks/parts of the ship while burning for encounters, like he was doing on the stream. The nukes obviously generate a lot of heat which was destroying nearby parts. You would only need 1 thermometer next to the nuke to see if you are approaching critical temperature. Also Winterowl mentioned that environments have ambient temperatures. If that is true, craft on EVE will probably die within minutes of landing due to overheating, just like on Venus. In that case you still only need 1 thermometer, since all of the craft would be heating up at the same rate.
  3. If the propagation of heat works well, we should be able to slap a thermometer on any part and see the temps on it without the debug menu.
  4. His tech tree was also looking also a bit different from Scotts. But I did like how he took things slowly and took time to explain and show off. The guys at KSPTV are just going LOLImplaying1.0 IhavenoideawhatIamdoing
  5. someone tell him to test if you can set the number of segments the fairing brakes into!!
  6. 12:05 here. I about to fix some lunch. KSP community is spread across the globe. The HYPE never sleeps!!
  7. How about one more - KER? I can accept the reasoning for fun over perfectionism in creative, but with career mode and funds and the ability to lose the game, DV readout is absolutely essential.
  8. I had to google that one Edit: And the result returned this thread. Did you just made that word on spot? Also how come no one else on the planet has come up wit that before you??
  9. Its not that bad with SSD. Also, Squad said they did a major optimisation on loading times, vanilla should load about 40% faster.
  10. Actually I am ok with that. Its gonna take a few days/weeks for all the mods I want to update. Even if 1.0 just runs for 30 min at a time before crashing is enough for me, just to play about a bit in the creative to get the feel for the new parts, systems.
  11. That is already in and confirmed, so its not that.
  12. Wow, really? This is good news, air brakes have been missing since forever. They were virtually mandatory with FAR, especially ever since the body lift was implemented.
  13. If the ultimate answer is 42,based on a sci fi comedy, and you encounter that number at least twice a week in every facet of our world, it makes you question the reality you live in. Either that or its just your brain picking that particular number form all the other numbers you encounter, and trying to find a pattern that does not in fact exist. I think I was joking... or was I ?
  14. You would be surprised how often that figure comes up in an average working day. It makes me uncomfortably paranoid...
  15. Like many people, I will start vanilla in creative, test the new aero and reentry heat, and any new parts. This should give me some time until mods are updated. After this I will probably install a few mods I usually use(KER, TAC lifesupport, FAR, procedural parts ...) and start a fresh hard mode career.
  16. You should be fine if you plan your angle of descend carefully. It worked just fine with the deadly reentry and FAR. You had to be careful to enter at a shallow angle and bleed of speed by gliding in the thin atmosphere before descending for a landing.
  17. This reminded me of our TV we had when I was small. One day my father and I were moving it around and it slipped out of my hands (big CRT televisions were heavy, and I was like 10). It fell on the ground and a bunch of parts broke apart inside. We had about a handfull of electrodes and transistors and whatnot that just broke off. The thing was, the TV worked just fine, for years and years after that incident...
  18. Oh my gosh! Check out those new engine nacelles!
  19. I told my coworker I will be going on a holiday next week. I might be physically present at the job, but my mind will be ... elsewhere... refining KSP designs...
