That's disappointing to hear -- it's been nearly a year since 1.0 with no significant features added to the game and I was really, really looking forward to something new!

Ok, I put about 10 hours into Sol-0 and my opinion of it is pretty poor. For a game, it seems to be missing the element of "fun". There is a lot of usability problems and the game just isn't polished - it feels like something that was built by an amateur over the weekend on Unity with stuff they purchased on the asset store or made themselves in Microsoft Paint. As far as a gameplay comparison, Sol-0 is very slow paced and you control individual units by instructing them to build things. This doesn't sound bad, but you spend more time watching your units walk around than actually doing anything fun or engaging. The game's concept of time is also problematic - upon landing with a full supply of food, you've got less than five minutes of gameplay time to build a whole bunch of stuff before you starve to death even after sending multiple pre-arrival supply drops of food. The idea of the game is good, but it's got so many usability issues that make it feel more like doing a chore than playing a game. My recommendation is to save your $6 and try Planetbase or something else instead.

I am almost done with all of the challenges in Planetbase and Sol-0 is next on my list so I'll respond here after I have played it and give you a good comparison.

I picked this game up last week and I normally don't really find colonization games that fun ... but this is pretty addicting and fun. It was on sale on Steam for $16.99 so I picked it up. Well worth the price IMO.

I was wondering how exactly the maneuver for the first stage was done ... well, it is as simple as you would think!

Mundane is a matter of preference.

More and more sites are going "responsive" so they work better with mobile devices. Create an "app" for this would be massive overkill and a giant waste of time and money.

It really boils down to two key principles: 1) build efficient and simple rockets. 2) if you cannot accomplish the dreams of what you want because of principle #1, assemble it in orbit with multiple launches. Consider how the International Space Station was built and use that for inspiration ... it doesn't have to be a space station, I usually launch a lander and its orbiter separately and dock them in orbit around Kerbin before sending them on their merry way. The overall launch cost is more, but it's easier and realistic (assuming you know how to rendezvous and dock). This approach works well for a Mun landing mission ... if you're going somewhere like Duna, consider this approach (this is an amazing accomplishment just meant to give you ideas):

Oops yeah, I meant to make title "6 Decades", not 60 Fixed!

This is pretty cool video, shows all of the space junk orbiting Earth. This probably resembles a lot of KSP careers ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPXCk85wMSQ

Why would anyone play the demo? The game is on sale all the time and is $20 really that much to pay? You're only punishing yourself by playing the demo.

This has literally been asked HUNDREDS of times on this very forum - just do a search!

The only reason I have found to use mono-propellant over LFO is for ship design in terms of how I want the parts stacked (or radially-attached) -- sometimes the LFO engines don't work as well as Mono. And if you're using Kerbal Engineer, sometimes will see a lower ISP still gives more delta-V because of the part weights of LFO vs Mono.

How far can you get on SWAGs - before you have to do some math?

You can run the numbers or you can just guess/over-estimate. If you don't use Kerbal Engineer, I would highly recommend it ... removes a lot of the guesswork around TWR and delta-V. -
Very impressive! I like it!

What is this letter from Emil you speak of? -
I support the decision, you should spend the holidays relaxing with family and friends, rather than recovering from an aggressive deadline!

Something I learned today: I will never have the patience to be a modeler. -
I am a rocket enthusiast so I voted "No" ... I prefer to wait for the full-blown 1.1 release.

Laythe is much more difficult to reach than Duna so my recommendation would be start there first.
