  1. Now that @_Zee's back in the mod-mood, is it possible to get this answered? Thanks!
  2. I haven't played KSP in years, and when they introduced career mode I thought it was completely brain-dead, and so would play with things like BTSM to stop the easy-cheese of having a Kerbal drive around the KSp unlocking the first 5 tiers of science. Whilst BTSM is defunct, I see that this mod is a spiritual successor of sorts. So if I wanted to play a stock KSP + PbC, what other mods would you consider essential to get the best PbC experience? (Other than the required dependencies) I.e. what mods was Zee using when playing and designing PbC?
  3. I agree with the unmanned approach: If you're trying to keep as many Kerbals alive as possible, like you've stated, then sending an unmanned probe to do the science that isn't a simply EVA report reduces risk.
  4. Thanks for writing your guide on your ship construction method -- I bet it'll be useful to lots of people. Previously, when trying to do similiar, I always encountered problems on the parts like your lowest section. I could never get the cloned engine stacks to align vertically, nor be rotated properly when doing the fake 16x symmetry. They'd always be poking out at a wrong angle, even when rotated using WASDQE (and even with shift). I never really had the patience! ps: I really like the look of your lander. It's like a classic direct ascent Rocket Ship
  5. You can hit the big red X to save yourself time, if you know it's going to burn up
  6. When did you get a grav scan of the poles? How come H-2 didn't do the scan? edit: Ah, Chandrasekhar 3 did it.
  7. I've enjoyed the series so far. I look forward to the next one! Will you make a new thread or keep this one?
  8. Just curious. Does anyone know if time will be important in career mode? e.g. Can we still waste 4 years waiting for optimal hohmann transfer points?
  9. Isn't there a property on parts to make them ignore physics? I guess you can't really apply that to struts, otherwise they wouldn't work...
  10. How do you plan to attach the probe to a rocket if it has no free open node on the base piece? Load up the Kerbal X and take off the radial connector. Note that the entire boosters come off with it. Note that you can't place the boosters back to attach aanywhere except by the original radial connector. The radial decoupler is the 'root' of that part list. When subassembly loader places your probe on the design area of another ship, it's just as if it WAS attached and then you unattached it. You need to be able to glue the rootnode of that probe to some part of the rocket. (I guess maybe what you're complaining about is that subassembly loader doesn't rejiggle the parts list to make it so that you can choose which open nodes becomes the root one which will attach to the rest of the rocket?)
  11. I was thinking about doing this myself, not specific to ISA map sat, but for all the mods. Anyway, thanks for putting this here as I couldn't really understand what Laminator was saying, but who can't understand a nice mklink? Innsewerants -- can't wait for the proper release! I echo the support for moving the icon though, as I like the 'big ui' option.
