  1. Changing the version number in the text file doesn't work in the case of a mod that uses AVC. You have to deal with AVC, not just the version number. Now if a mod doesn't use AVC, then yea, just changing the version number and resaving the text file will make the popups go away
  2. I guess that depends on what you mean by 'simple'...if you just delete the MiniAVC.dlll and it's html cfg file, you stop getting that warning
  3. I just noticed that I'm getting part errors when using Veryinky's cfg. Everything seems to work just fine in the game, but I just wanna make sure the errors aren't important. Can someone look at this and see? Seems like they are all errors having to do with the variables, MixLFCost, LF, OX tempvar, totalcost. etc etc Player.log
  4. I've been using Oinkers skybox for a while, but always just put them in /default. I notice his new release has different formats in /default and /Envmap. What's the diff, and why?
  5. I saw that. Loved Homeworld back in the day. Now if I could find and play Dune2, I'd be loving life (I did find Dune2 a few years ago and got it to install on WinXp I think, it was horrible looking....then I said to myself "Wow, did it really look this bad back in 1996 as well!?!??!")
  6. I have this one, the Y50-70 Touch to be exact. I bought 2. One is Win8 only for the family and the other I dual-boot Linux Mint and Win8.
  7. Tried it just stock parts yet? I do like the look of yours! How bout that trailer huh? {Full video URL}
  8. Believe it or not, I made this long before the trailer, I'm amazed how much it resembles the design shown. I made this and all the other craft in the book for a "The Martian" challenge to recreate the scenarios
  9. Oh my. OP are you willing to change the name of Mod?!?!?! This is epic
  10. It does make sense that other parts in space longer would be cooler. Now that you've mentioned it, I could be mistaken on which part was brought up last. I should have marked them somehow! The first piece up was one of the long sections, then the 2 in the middle, then the other longer section was docked last. I've been actually thinking that the entire craft is bugged somehow, the temp gauge shows correctly, it's just the colors that are not showing up. I'll continue on with the mission and see what happens, I had just finished docking and decided to check the temps when I saw this anomaly (EDIT) --> So I quicksaved and did a long burn, and the color overlay worked just like it should. I think maybe I was so used to seeing the stock overlay where the entire craft starts out red, that I didn't take into account the different pieces being put together having different temps. Once I fired it up, it all evened out normally and worked like I expected it should. Now if Squad would work on docking ports not transferring heat
  11. I almost always just delete old installs, with the exception of cfg files. In this case I did delete and replace the folder and had no issues, even with crafts in orbit with Heat Management parts on it.
  12. This is strange, I usually test all my contraptions in sandbox before I spend all the time launching and docking in career. So I have another version of this craft that I assembled in the VAB and HyperEdited into space as one ship and it behaves normally when trying to enable the heat overlay. It's only the separately launched and docked version in career that acts weird like in the pics....
  13. So I have this vessel, it's 4 separate launches, docked into one ship for a big old mission. I'm getting this weird effect when trying to enable the overlay, for some reason it's only showing me the overlay on the last piece that was docked to the others. The right-click temp info for individual parts works ok for everything else, it's just the overlay that seems borked:
  14. I do run linux but I have built-in intel graphics. I've never seen the heatshield fairing issue anywhere except in space. Never on the pad.
  15. I've been playing KSP on a Lenovo G580 laptop since 0.18, and eventually upgraded the cpu to an i5 from it's original i3, so I'm used to low-end. (Although I do run Linux and play the 64bit client) Does anyone have a Lenovo Y50-70? I need to get my wife a decent laptop with touchscreen and this one looks like I could hijack it for my own gaming needs, I was just hoping to see if anyone has experience with one?
  16. Wow. I've had hundreds and hundreds before, but since 1.0.2 I've kept the game as simple as possible. I was right around 123, but then I tried a new mod that changes the heat overlay colors and my patch count exploded up to around 450. I thought that was bad, and some of you have them in the 10's of thousands!!??!?
  17. I've had it happen to me, and I don't use TS. I do recall it happening several times when a heatshield was placed directly under the new service bay.
  18. So like 40 posts ago or so, someone DDS'd the icons for Filter Extensions and found out that some don't/won't work. Is there an appreciable difference in memory usage, or speed or performance from trying to find a way to get DDS icons to work with this?
  19. I watched a guy on twitch locate one a while back. I also watched him walk a kerbal up a mountain for like 40 minutes
  20. I ran across a similar issue after I installed Outer Planets Mod. If I started from my normal desktop icon, planet rings and the 2 odd shaped moons were screwy. My guess was some kind of environment variable with Kopernicus/Kittopia. If I started from the directory, there were no issues. I gave up trying to work around it and now I just start from the directory even though I don't have OPM installed right now
  21. Yea I figured this was a game mechanic that wasn't going to be gotten-around easily. At least with Jool having so many moons, it's easy to fill up your contract list with contracts for just that system, but like I said, trying to fill it up with just Dres and Eeloo contracts isn't happening
