It seems incredibly laborious to get there etc, just for the purpose of what could turn out to be a very short race.
Furthermore, there are too many independent variables to make it an easily repeatable challenge (it would take too long to make amendments to the ship and then repeat the challenge).
Maybe if you made it a bit simpler people would be interested?
For example, if you found a piece of flat land closer to the KSC, you could do the challenge there?
Hope I helped
You can already test your design on the runway or near the KSC; it\'s only for the final run it has to be on a perfectly flat surface.

I will unsticky it then. If anyone wishes to take on this project they only need to make a new one and ask for it to be stickied.

This should be directed either here: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/forum/index.php?topic=13543.0

Maybe if you put winglets on each of them that would produce an even force on the rocket as a whole (due to symmetry) but when released would cause them to be pushed away from the rocket.

Has anyone contacted Misterspork to find out what his plans are for the thread?

I was using Avira on my previous install but have abandoned it due to the rate and disruptiveness of its adverts increasing massively this year.

1. They say that all crew/colonists are allowed unlimited email/communications so i guess that covers it.
2. They don\'t cover this and that i expect that is because they are avoiding the issue
4. They are planning on getting resource production running on planet very quickly, maybe even before the colonists arive.

A pleasant surprise for this afternoon.
I\'m looking forward to tonight when I get a chance to get up to speed on everything.

I think it was supposed to be Mini-Mun (miniature Mun) but either the devs thought it was too unoriginal or made a typo and it ended up as Mini-Mus
Which was then shortened to Minmus to point out unobservant people allowing others to make fun of them.
-
It\'s not quite so clear as a factor of 10 but it should be in the ballpark.
What is the most Minmus like object as far as appearances and composition?

I don\'t think the game has support for effects that change with altitude yet, i may be wrong though. either way these new ones are a big improvement.

Looks like a great idea. Seems very ambitious but would be seriously cool if it succeeds.

I am certain that Harvester already has a virtually complete plan for the default system by now. How close it is to this one and how much it will change i cannot say though.
I\'m sure that whatever it is will be at least as good as Silisko\'s.

Damn, I missed this; I\'ll have to look for a video somewhere.

Is it possible to sink components to the bottom of the sea and have them stable? Also do parts stay in persistence when they\'re on (or under) water?
It\'s an interesting idea though and one i\'d support if it\'s possible.

That\'s a nice video, a pretty rocket too!
That was my first experience with the skydrive video hosting, I\'m quite impressed actually; was it easy to set up?
-
I\'ve heard that X-Rebirth is going to cover a lot that this game aims to do, the previous X games did too but were quire heavily flawed in many areas.

I remember seeing a video similar to this for farcry 2 but Ubi cut it out because they decided to make it for consoles too.
Crytek lost a lot of my respect and hope when they put out crysis 2, biggest disappointment ever. I hear 3 may be better but i have very little hope they manage not to screw it up.
Having said that though, simulated physics is my main area of interest gaming wise and i cam play with physics demos for hours. This video makes me extremely happy and i would be euphoric if they released the actual software to play with.
-
The amount of money they raised in 24 hours is crazy! I never expected this thing to get funded. I upped my contribution by $10 but didn\'t think enough other people would.
-
They look like spaceplane fuselage/fuel bits with cockpit nosecones stuck on the end, also a huge quantity of RCS nozzles.
-
I don\'t think it\'s intentional that we can\'t get copies of old versions. I expect it\'s more that it has very little demand and would require some effort to set up a system to provide downloads. I\'m sure that if more than a couple people asked Harvester for a previous version download page he\'d be happy to sort it out.
Since you bought a license to the game rather than a specific copy it doesn\'t matter where you acquire one from from the devs perspective; I would just suggest that only official means are \'encouraged\' or \'supported\'.

Is there an easy way of tracking your speed over time?
Also, every test i did on the runway showed a top ground speed far higher than is possible in the end of mission window; I have no idea why.
I will do a test on ice tomorrow evening if i have time.

So it is official, we will make our vehicle, add wings, make a detachable rocket, and fly to the north pole. OK.
What\'s the point in regulating the method of arival? This is meant to test the ground vehicle not how easy it is to get it to the north pole.

I had quite a bit of fun playing around on the runway the other week but since then built a new pc which is still waiting for a GPU. If it weren\'t for that I\'d have attempted a north pole run by now.
