  1. I figured I should thank you for bringing this mod back, I've been doing the head slamming routine trying to get my old MS sidewinder pro to work with linux and this was like finding a pallet of money to me. Thank you for your time and effort.
  2. I got KSP running finally on a linux based PC (I got bored with windows) so came to check in on this mod again. As always I am very impressed on the quality of your work along with how much more you've added. Well done!
  3. I finally got linux running stable on this PC and came to check on this mods to see what's changed. I'm very impressed them as always.
  4. Not to derail the thread, but it's been a while since I last checked out KSP mods and I have to say that you've got some impressive work. I remember when I first saw your first couple of mods and have yet to be disappointed, especially now that I've seen all your work since then. Keep it up!
  5. Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a cutaway of like that for Soviet spacecrafts before. Nice find.
  6. I have never laughed so hard at a ksp picture before this. Good one Beale!
  7. That looks really impressive! You sure as hell keep surprising me, nice work.
  8. Hey Beale, about the TKS. Why not make a "built-in" adapter for the nose similar to what you did with Vega/Salyut? Just an idea I thought might help.
  9. Haha! I forgot about that movie. Moving on I found some info (not much) on the TMA spacecraft on the manufacturer's website which was surprisingly hard to navigate unless you go to the site map. http://www.energia.ru/en/iss/soyuz-tma/soyuz-tma.html Also some info on NASA's website. http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/station/structure/elements/soyuz/index.html#.U7XZcPm0e6A I tried going on the Russian Space Federation's website, but since I don't know much Russian anymore I couldn't navigate on there (so much for international cooperation ).
  10. I like the new design especially the crew module (or decent module on the real Soyuz TMA) since it has more of a taper than the older one which I rather like. Good work as always! Also, just out of curiosity is the new engine a single nozzle now or just a more compacted arrangement?
  11. I'd use your stockalike soyuz for reference, but I think that would work pretty well. You could always do a quick scaled drawing of them to see which looks best to you.
  12. Wouldn't it be possible to just make an alternate config so you could have one with and one without?
  13. I know the second stage engine on a Delta III and IV uses an extendable nozzle, but I don't recall any other examples at the moment.
  14. Honestly, I thought the stock-like Salyut was going to be a bit unpleasant looking, but you sure as hell pulled that off and beat my opinion down. Also, I figured I should mention that I use the Tantares all the time, especially as a orbital space station crew transfer vehicle (I think being that specific makes me qualify as a geek or an engineer... or both ). I still have yet to try the Libra or Spica due to me not updating the pack and non-researched parts.
  15. 387: Play baseball or golf with light bulbs.
  16. Wow. I've found user guides for other launch vehicles just as detailed, but nothing as impressive as this. Also, that thing is looking good, can't wait to see the final product.
  17. It's armament varied depending on the model. I know one had 10 MIRVs (I crap myself thinking about it) and another that just had a large (really excessive) fusion warhead. From my previous research, I know that the MIRVs held a lot of other thing besides the nukes like countermeasures (i.e. chaff, guidance computers, thrusters, etc.) and some may even be decoys. I couldn't find much on the second stage engine besides what I already posted and some info that isn't very useful in KSP. I'll see if I can find anything else, just don't rely on me. Edit: More info. http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/russia/icbm/r-36.htm http://www.russianspaceweb.com/r36.html
  18. This is what I found. http://www.astronautix.com/engines/rd252.htm
  19. You could use the buildings at KSC for reference to determine what the ideal floor height should be. Just an idea... or weak light bulb.
  20. Weird, I use NP struts all the time on LLL parts and haven't had a problem with them except for those few places they don't like to go. Have you tried turning on part clipping?
  21. My brother is a game developer, I'll ask him about it. He doesn't have much free time though, so it might be a while before hearing from him.
  22. I don't like to vote because I'd rather have everyone else be happy rather than me, but I think a mix and match might be a good idea. @BlazingAngel That's looking nice, I enjoy seeing the work you do.
  23. That's how the actual LV is. It's used as an orbital adjustment stage, the solid-fuel stages are just to get it roughly in to orbit. That's how a lot of solid-fueled rockets work (i.e. Pegasus, Minotaur III, Vega, etc.) and most of them use monopropellant (typically hydrazine) for an orbital adjustment stage.
  24. Meh. Just call it a record and enjoy the ride.
  25. I've been having the same problem. I tried different probes and got the same reaction every time.
