  1. There does seem to be something off with the way the landing legs rebound. I mounted an engine pointed downward to increase force on a lander that I knew could sit near full extension. I compressed the legs all the way down and they only rebounded about halfway. Raising and lowering a single leg caused them all to kind of pop back to where they normally were under the weight they were supporting.

  2. Why wouldn't you be able to turn the ship around and fire the FTL again to bring the velocity back to a maneuverable range?

Because it would be a "warp" drive. It doesn't actually add or subtract any velocity from your ship, just moves it to another location. From a stationary observer, the ship will have the same velocity where it ended as when it started.

  3. The way science points are earned really needs to be looked at. It's too easy to exploit, it's too clumsy, and it feels like it's punishing you for not exploiting it. Being able to do like fifteen transmissions on moon rocks, and suddenly there's no point in bringing any back home?

You are only getting 20% of the science transmitting that you would bringing them back. However, the thermometer, barometer, gravimeter, and accelerometer should all transmit 100% rather than the 80% or whatever they do right now. They are just storing numbers, those should be able to be transmitted intact.

  4. True, and it is, even in career mode, the thermometer is two tiers closer to the start than the atomic engine. I don't know who started the whole "NERVA comes before ladders" thing, but it isn't that way in 0.22, and wasn't that way in any of the videos shown during the last livestream weekend.

I currently have the thermometer unlocked, no clue where the NERVA is. Haven't seen its node.

  5. I dunno though. Really simple things- like basic structural parts- seems to me those don't need to be balanced to lategame like, say, mainsail engines, right? Or is there some power to these small strut-made cubes that I've missed? XD

You can do some really cool engine clusters with the small cubic strut. I think that was the thing a lot of (if not most) people used it for.
