  1. Squad also said on Twitter that comets will be added.
  2. I'd suggest CryoEngines. That and 2.7x scale gives KSP a Realism Overhaul Lite feel.
  3. It would be a good test for SpaceX as well, considering Gateway will be in the same orbit (presumably). I don't think SLS or FH can launch both to NRHO in one launch.
  4. General Artemis timeline I made, mostly based on this:
  5. I flew a shuttle today (JNSQ, FAR, CryoEngines): https://imgur.com/a/gPSTI5q
  6. Tell me about it... I've got a final and two papers due next week... Good luck!
  7. JNSQ is great. It makes rockets have to look like the real ones to have enough Delta V to get anywhere.
  8. Aaand it been a year! How is your mod progressing?
  9. Does anyone know if the entire lander can launch on one Vulcan?
  10. This NASA paper (p3) lists the "Small stack" gateway configuration as 7 tonnes. On the other hand, the PPE is supposedly 5000kg and Cygnus 6,600 kg (3,400kg dry mass), = 8.4 to 11.6 tonnes. Assuming a C3 of -2.2 to -1.5 (p119) is needed for a direct transfer, then based on this calculator: c3 = -1.7 c3 = -1.5 Reusable 7010kg 6975kg Expendable 15515kg 15460kg (It won't let me go lower than -1.7.) 500 m/s is required for orbital insertion. This is riddled with assumptions, but a reusable FH can just barely lift the first configuration (7t) but not the second (8.4t+). I got a little carried away doing this...
  11. To scale, assuming HALO has the same diameter as Cygnus.
  12. I get that SLS has unique capabilities as a HLV, but this is ridiculous. Money burner go brrr
  13. Oh now I see. I had mixed up DSN range with antenna range. Thanks for clarifying.
  14. There's also a possibility that Bureaucracy conflicts with the changes JNSQ makes to the tracking station range, but I haven't checked yet.
  15. My guess is NASA goes with Dynetics, at least for the early non-sustainable landings. Blue Origin's lander is overly complex, and who knows when a flight ready Starship will be available. The more hardware available by the time the administration changes, the less likely it will be for Artemis to be cancelled, so I think Dynetics is the best option - their lander is the smallest and presumably simplest to build.
  16. Starship's going to look odd docked to a tiny capsule...
  17. I alternate between science and career depending on how annoyed I am with career mode restrictions.
  18. I found KSP around January 2013 and got hooked onto the demo (.13.3). The release of the .18.3 demo convinced me to buy the full game. Speaking of, is KSP really yet ready to move out of beta?
  19. It's one of those things that seems completely normal until we see something better. If we get varied kerbals in KSP 2 the kerbals in 1 will look so strange all being clones of one another.
