  1. Wow, that's a very complex craft! It may be worth trying to re-produced the bug in a simpler design, my guess is that it will be easier to diagnose. Cupcake...
  2. Doesn't help unfortunately, here's the bug in action: As you can see seated Kerbals are producing drag when they shouldn't. Cupcake...
  3. I hope so! The first time that bug hit I was able to pass it up to chain to Sal_Vager who got it fixed, sadly I don't really know anyone on the dev team anymore. Cupcake...
  4. Sorry, I should have stated myself more clearly, the issue is Kerbals producing drag/being exposed to heat when they should be protected by cargo bays/fairings/material bays. For the majority of my aircraft designs this is less then ideal. Cupcake...
  5. Fairing bug is still there in 1.4.3. The bug report lodged over a month ago doesn't seem to have been acted on. Any ideas folks? Cupcake...
  6. Love your work, many thanks for the new update! Cupcake...
  7. I've lodged a bug report, so hopefully (fingers crossed) it'll be fixed with the next patch. For now I'm just sticking with 1.3.1. Cupcake...
  8. CRAFT FILE: https://goo.gl/PqgnJ2 Presenting the Wisp Mk3, a versatile, multi-role aircraft that combines long range with bone snapping manoeuvrability. Cruising at Mach 2 at 15,000m and above it's possible to get around 6 hours of flight time with a maximum speed of Mach 3 using afterburners. Extremely low wing loading mean stall speeds of around 30m/s and the ability to take off from most back gardens. The small cargo bay can be filled with all manner of sensors for anyone chasing science. Did I mention this thing handles like a champ? CONTROLS: 1 - Toggle Engines 2 - Toggle Afterburners 9 - Toggle Engine Gimbals ABORT - Deploy Airbrakes/ Open Materials Bay RECOMMENDED MOD: OWNERS MANUAL: This craft was designed and developed in 1.3.1 but to the best of my knowledge it should work in the latest version. A joystick is highly recommended and the SAS should be left on by default. Unlike many of my designs the craft is flown from a command pod located in front of the materials bay. When cruising using an autopilot (Pilot Assist, Mechjeb etc...) it's recommended to disable the control surfaces/gimbal and rely exclusively on the crafts reaction wheel. The SAS can struggle to hold the heading when flying at extremely high speeds using the afterburners. In this case it's sometimes worth disabling the SAS and flying free-hand. Due to the very buggy landing gear and the fact that the craft doesn't have ladders (too much drag), it's recommended to fold the gear in when quick saving/loading or parking the vessel. Using the airbrakes at low speeds can result in loss of control! Enjoy! Cupcake...
  9. Taking care of logistics. Enjoy! Cupcake...
  10. Thought you guys might enjoy seeing the Wisp Mk3 in action. I just want to do a last minute tweaks to the craft file, I'll try and get it out by the end of the week. Cupcake...
  11. Well 1.4.1 is upon us and unfortunately Kerbals in command chairs aren't being occluded inside cargo/materials bays which has rendered the majority of designs useless. This bug has popped up in a previous version of KSP but unfortunately has come round to haunt us again. I can't make much sense of the Bug Tracker and was wondering whether someone would be kind enough to lodge a bug report on my (and other peoples) behalf? Cupcake...
  12. Just like real boats it pays to fashion a keel out of something heavy (I tend to use the large Ore tanks) which should be placed in the center of the hull as far down as you can get it. Either that or build a catamarang for stability. Cupcake...
  13. All in all the games much better then it was, however I do miss the old black tanks. I can understand why Squad changed them but they just don't look as cool, especially for gunships and whatnot. Good times! Cupcake...
  14. After possibly discovering alien life on Val Nieble's Kerman gets some re-enforcements. BTW Here's part 1 for anyone that's late to the party. Enjoy! Cupcake...
  15. Great to hear! Tomorrow we'll share it with the rest of the world. Cupcake...
  16. Congratulations on the stick! Generally speaking you should only use crafts featured on the first page as this thread as they will all work with the latest version of KSP. I recommend starting with the Mork (Mini Dropship Collection) before moving on to vacuum designs such as the Mindy and Newt. Hope this helps! Cupcake...
  17. Even if Kerbals had some very basic form of AI it will add a huge amount of immersion. Anyway, EVA Follower, great MOD surprisingly underrated really. Cupcake...
  18. The tripod is made up of stock antennas, the camera itself is from a mod called Hullcam VDS which was used to take the black and white still. @RedPandaz This is all shot in game, no extra animation/CG was added. It's a wee bit neglected (and buggy) but the EVA Follower MOD allows multiple Kerbals to follow paths or indeed each other. Hope this helps! Cupcake...
  19. Sometimes the outcomes are less then ideal. Cupcake...
  20. Working on a new version of the Wisp. It still cruises quite happily along the stratosphere with the added bonus of afterburners. With the engines grouped tight together the handling is vastly improved. The engine gimbals also put out plenty of turn even when the craft is barely moving, no extra reaction wheels needed here. Coming soon! Cupcake...
  21. @SQUAD Thanks guys, it's always a huge honour to be featured here! Really looking forwards to the new expansion pack too. Cupcake...
  22. Heh all, I'm planning on doing an in depth tutorial about this design so I thought it best to give it a wee tune up and make sure everything's humming before I start filming. To this end I've moved the reaction wheel up, improved the solar panel placement, re-tuned the balance and fixed a very minor aesthetic flaw that was annoying me. You see how the black from the intake now blends seamlessly into the advanced canards? In fact check out those lines aren't they just divine? (I admit it I have no life) . In other news I've also added a Liquid Fuelled variant of the Vortex for anyone out there that wants to go fast, really fast, I'm taking close to Mach 6 fast! The LF version is in fact so fast it can go beyond the maximum speed of the Rapier (at this altitude Mach 5.7), and actually needs to be speed limited to stop the jet flaming out! It can also operate right up to the engines maximum altitude of 28k. So yeah, if you wanna test the limits of the engine this is probably the craft for you. Enjoy! Cupcake...
  23. Always on the lookout for good choons, will given them a spin tonight. Cupcake...
