  1. The big question is, if it is a good idea ...

if you fly straight up and jettison any stages during the first kms, there is a big danger that they hit the Launchpad or other nearby KSC buildings

Do they? I thought your debris in the atmosphere despawned once it got more than 2.5 km away from the active vessel. It seems unlikely that your spent stages would hit the ground before you were that far above it.

  2. The core mechanics of the life support workings seems to work fine for me. The only issues I've noticed are the ones mentioned. The VAB build window does not work, it shows no info and flashes for me. And then the stock parts are all one size, the middle size I believe. Other than that I've seen no problems with the workings of it on the couple of ships I had in flight and ones I've made since.

I must say that I DID NOT have any major bases or anything stocked with kerbals before this KSP update. So maybe just backup your save and then try it to be sure they don't all die if you really want to use it until the new update from taranis. Other mods could cause conflicts I suppose and I'm not a mod heavy user as some others are. But the core mechanics of consumption and all that appear to function ok still.

Just keep in mind that typically when a new update of any of the TAC mods come out he tells you to start with a clean game. Most don't want to start a new game if they're just going to have to restart tomorrow. Although, from what I've seen posted at the other site it certainly won't be anywhere near that soon, but still.

  3. Thats funny AetherGoddess don't care who you are thats funny hehe.

That's not right. I care who you are, AetherGoddess, even if nobody else does.

That being said, can't wait for the next update to RT2 for .25. Glad to see it's being worked on. Keep up the good work, OP!

  4. I haven't because I dislike steam. But I've never had any trouble download from the squad store. The distributor they chose seems to have worked fine today.

    I keep getting this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected end of file in /host/www.kerbalspaceprogram.com/htdocs/lib/multiplayDwn.php on line 132

This isn't really about that though. I'm a patient guy. I can wait for my update.

  5. As I try futilitously to download the new version of KSP amidst the storm of server activity, I can't help but ask myself why I haven't transferred my game purchase to STEAM. I could be playing KSP by now.

I've had to ask myself this question before, server troubles during an update is nothing new, and while I've never been able to come up with a satisfying answer, I still don't transfer. I don't have an issue with STEAM, in fact I own numerous games on that platform. It just doesn't feel right. For some reason downloading through the website, and keeping my KSP seperate from everything else seems like the right thing for me.

Is there anyone else like me who hasn't transferred their purchase to STEAM? Why not?

  6. Guy's I've invented a cool mod that not only flys your rockets for you, and builds them, but all designs them and plans everything for you, you literally don't have to do anything at all.

I call it 'watching a video of someone else play'.

    Rick-Rolled!

  7. I've been experimenting with ascent profiles on my Apollo/Saturn V and have it just about right where I want it...

    video=snipped

Stage 3 shut-down is in a 100km by 60km orbit, with the spacecraft just past periapsis. This requires only a mild 80m/sec or so circularization burn, while staying low (40-60km) for most of the horizontal acceleration to maximize efficiency.

(I'm filming a movie that recreates the Apollo 15-17 "J-class" moon missions, which is why I had that video handy.)

It's telling me the video you posted is private. Can I get on the list?
