  1. The only mods I can think of that do anything with SAS are Mechjeb and Tweakable Everything and both are up to date. Guess I'll just have to put things in one at a time and see what breaks.
  2. Yeah no problem. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0ByGL27vfpnFqTm9jT2pPYlhiSWs/edit?usp=docslist_api Not sure if it's related but the debug log is getting hit with an error concerning VesselSAS not being found.
  3. I did replace them with the above linked D/L but it's still greyed out. Last time this happened it was a conflict with Active Texture Management but I imagine a lot of people are using it now and don't seem to be having trouble.
  4. Is this recompile supposed to fix the grey screens or is it for something else? Because my RPM screens aren't working at all.
  5. I'm currently sat trying to figure out why RPM is working for some people but not me and simultaneously I'm trying to figure out what is spamming the debug log with a 'GUIContent is null. Use GUIContent.none" message. So basically, no going to space for me just yet.
  6. And the kerbals aren't (weren't) supposed to be an industry either, hence the barn that we were supposed to start off with.
  7. Actually no, it didn't. Not unless NACA/NASA was formed before 1926 when Goddard launched his first liquid fueled rocket. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_H._Goddard
  8. And the ability exists for them to make it that easy, which makes all the complaining even more confusing.
  9. Career is supposed to be the challenging mode and by having size restrictions it sort of represents how our own space industry started out. With the exception of having manned flights first of course.
  10. That's like saying you want to play Skyrim but only if your character starts out at level 50 and has access to all the dragon shouts. What's the point in playing career mode if you want it easy?
  11. Also, and I can't believe I'm having to point this out, KSP has never been about 'YOUR vision', it has always been Harvesters vision. The ONLY way it could possibly be your vision is if you yourself were making the game. Now, if you think that because you paid money for KSP that means you get to make decisions on its development, I'll make a point of mentioning the now scrapped offline single player mode of Elite: Dangerous. Those backers paid a lot more than any of us did and David Braben pulled a promised game mechanic. Do those backers who wanted offline mode have a right to complain? Yes. Do they have a right to demand it be reinstated? No. Are those backers who don't care about whether it exists or not Fanboys? Of course not. All that b**ching will do is p**s the devs off, it won't change things and will probably cause them to just walk away from the game. I've seen it happen to a friend who works for a major developer. Constructive criticism on the other hand works wonders.
  12. You've always been able to burn straight up, that was the first thing I did when I downloaded the demo and that was version 0.13. Resources are coming, Maxmaps confirmed that in a tweet yesterday. The reason they were pushed back was because they weren't fun, they were grindy. Even Orbiter, THE hardcore sim has transfer MFDs because in reality, NASA & ESA use computers to plot out trajectories, they don't just wing it.
  13. My 0.25 Jeb has retired (thanks FireCrew!) along with Bill following the fatal accident which resulted in the loss of Bob.
  14. The inline cockpit has been missing an IVA since it was introduced. The IVA scene when extracted into Unity is marked as "Generic Space", there's also a larger 3-man one that thankfully isn't used as it's awful (it is used in the old B9 HL cockpit if you have Rasterprop installed). As for the contract briefings, as rubbish as they are, it saves a lot of dev time to do procedurally generated text than it does to write out +500 contracts.
  15. 0.90.0 career mode for me carries with it the same level of difficulty as 0.25 career mode and less of the grind. Why? Because I was already using FinePrint as well as Kerbal Construction Time, playing with permadeath, no reverts or quicksaves, a huge reduction in starting funds and a modified tech tree that only gave me basic equipment and NO manned pods. And you know what? It's still easier than real rocketry.
  16. Pretty much the only reason to choose the BACC over the RT-10 is that the RT-10 is awful to look at. That and the fact that it looks weird on launch vehicles once they get to a certain length/width. It's probably better to go with two liquid fueled outer stages over the BACC unless your starting TWR is really low.
  17. So... All of two realism mods then? One of which fixes what has already been revealed as being a placeholder item. Not exactly grounds for a mass revolt against the "dumbed-down" nature of the game. You want realism, play Orbiter. KSP was never described as being a fully-fledged simulation. The devs left the door open for people to turn it into one if they themselves wished, but it is first and foremost a game with simulation aspects. If Squad really wanted to, they could have gone "yep, we're done. Version 0.18 is now version 1.00. Thanks everyone." and left. They didn't, in fact they provided more than they originally set out to do. Ranting about it because it doesn't match YOUR (or anybody else's) vision does nothing but make you sound self-entitled. Being constructively critical and pointing put areas for improvement is entirely different to demanding that you have your own way.
  18. The most popular mods are Texture Replacer, EVE, B9, KW Rocketry and BD Armoury and apart from EVE, none of them add anything in the way of realism to the game. Real Solar System and RemoteTech aren't even in the top third when it comes to mod popularity, they're almost niche mods amongst the community.
  19. What gets me are the whole "THIS ISN'T MY KSP ANYMORE!" rants, as if it was ever anything else but Harvesters dream made real. At the end of everything, the only thing Squad owe us is a game where you build a rocket, stick a Kerbal in it and shoot it into the sky. We are entitled to nothing else. We certainly aren't entitled to say "I HATE THIS, CHANGE IT!" Paraphrasing Brian Cox; "We all have a right to express our opinion, we don't have a right to have those opinions listened to."
  20. It wasn't showing for either the stock or AIES tanks which are the only two rocket parts I'm using. I'm using the Stockalike Real Fuels config as I don't use RSS.
  21. Coffeeman, quick heads up. it seems that this doesn't work with Real Fuels (I'm still running 0.25 for now), I had to go through the stockalike config file and manually add DrawGauge = True to all the oxidiser fuels.
  22. Quick question, is the glare on the atmosphere a result of the RSS visual enhancement pack altering the atmosphere or is it just a modified sun glare? Because I keep seeing it and it looks fantastic.
  23. *OVERUSED PHRASE INCOMING!* This along with all of your stuff should be stock. A lot more useful that the official tutorial scenarios.
  24. Haven't had chance to play yet but I have a feeling I'm going to enjoy 0.90 more than any other version. Oh and to the people complaining about how the lack of manoeuvre nodes spoils the game, at one point they never existed at all.
