  1. Haha! I love it! I never thought of using lots of landing legs. Mine is more of a roll cage...
  2. Right, I have revised the rules. I'm quite thankful that you folks pointed out my error this early! I have changed the target to the Mun so that there is no atmosphere to slow ya down I shall post my entry shortly.
  3. You have a point... Let me have a quick think. I shall revise the rules. Cheers for the correction
  4. Will it Bounce? Hello and welcome the 'Will it Bounce' Challenge! In this challenge you will be required to design a craft capable of falling to the mun from space WITHOUT engines or RCS. Now, I know that kerbals can do this and some ships can do this also, but your entries will have to push the limits of kerbal design. Your score will be set as the speed your ship is travelling at 5km above the surface. Rules: You are allowed to use infinite fuel to put your craft into the required orbit. You are NOT allowed to use engines or RCS to slow/manipulate your decent. You MUST have one kerbal onboard your craft as it hits the ground (and he must come out alive). You are allowed to use rockets to propel yourself towards the Mun so that your entry speed is higher. The ship that passes the 5km mark must be your final ship and as such, all propulsion methods must be decoupled/undocked. No cheats other than infinite fuel are to be used. To enter you must show: Your initial craft. Your speed at 5km (more or less) Your craft after landing. Any other screenshots are welcome Good Luck! Leaderboard: Right - 308.7 Vector - 188.4
  5. haha, shame the SRBs ran out as you hit water. You should just use torque to roll it to the water then hit the srbs. I would love to see how far it goes
  6. Cool wheel however you do seem to be using wheels as a part of your wheel... Get a top speed on it without the wheels and I will stick you on the leaderboards. Haha, Looking awesome! I see a new form of water fairing craft in the future.
  7. Awesome stuff guys! I will update your scores. Just for clarification, the top speed is before your wheel is damaged in any way. If something breaks off, even if the wheel still rolls, then the top speed will only count before that point. I will ad this in the OP.
  8. You might want to take a look at this video, It would be a cool thing to impliment in this challenge. Instead of just having a time limit it would give you an actual event to anticipate. I might give this challenge a go
  9. ooooh, How about an extra time warp button just slapped on the end for those long eloo transfers...
  10. I would love to see an animation of taking a surface sample. Everything else is awesome but i dont want to get my hopes up... I think they should give us an incentive to have space stations. Even if its not long term science it could be for training kerbals or something. Oh and I would kiss the feet of the Devs if they can give us a 64-bit ksp....
  11. haha! Is nothing more kerbal than strapping SRBs to something and watching it go I will once again revise your scores
  12. small and simple, I like it! Onto the leaderboard you go!
  13. Cool stuff! I shall revise your scores.
  14. Awesome design! I have put you on the leaderboard at 28.2 m/s as your wheel broke at that point. Even then you have grabbed first place! As much as i wanted to put you in first place on the I+A Leaderboard, Your wheel didn't have a bearing of any kind, so i put you in second! Loved it! And your welcome
  15. Hi folks, Excuse this terrible waste of forum space but i though i would do some shameless self-advertising! I have a youtube channel and I recently hit 100 subs To celebrate I am giving away a free copy of KSP! Thanks for not killing me for my shameless self-advertising!
  16. Cool entry, I like the docking ports I have added you to the leaderboard!
  17. Yeah, I can land just fine. I have just never used this specific engine for landing... Mainly because its stupid. It is however cheap...
  18. Ziv, I think I might nick your idea of launching up a heck of orange tanks... I have my own little twist though.
  19. I have one that costs about 7700... the dV is tight... really tight... I have put earlier versions down on the mun successfully but I keep crashing this specific design. It has a very weak engine... Its not like Im killing the kerbals either, Im just bringing it down too hard and smashing the engine off...
  20. Those are some good ideas (I quite like the turning circle thing) but I think that I would like to keep the challenge simple and focused on the 'coolness' or inginuity of the designs rather than the tech specs
  21. I seem to have overdone my mission a bit... I wanted to dock two landers onto my 'mothership' but my fps drops like a rock. Im going to have to redesign a little...
