  1. it's also the physics engine loading the object as well. When you get withing 2500 Km(by default) that's when you come withing visual range of objects, loading everything from their appearance to the physics on those models. it's an issue that'll get optimized in future releases
  2. Be aware that getting at TWR of 3 or more can be dangerous for your rocket! XD I decided to get silly and use bobcat's Jool V rockets to launch things...... 15 TWR.... The rocket went up, pilot stayed grounded xD like something out of those old cartoons!
  3. Can't wait to see the results on that! Oh don't worry too much about it, RL first after all! And things are working to optimal level! Thanks for the fix!
  4. That's why I asked about future releases when you do have the time, hehe. But yeah, the Java bit may be my problem, I may not have installed it on this machine... I'll give that a shot and check back with results! Thanks a bunch!
  5. hell maybe enough fuel to warrant a trip to the Sol system, kidnap an earth cow to freak the humans out, and return to kerbin with pictures and videos of humans freaking out! SPOILERS HIGHLIGHT I'm joking >_> But yeah, go for it! You got more than enough!
  6. "we're sorry but something went wrong" :< awwe, I went to start a campaign of my own, it worked, but when i tried adding missions, none would show, request contract didn't work, and returning to campaign selecting gave me that. Deleting campaign did that as well.
  7. I'm trying to run this file and well, I'm having a swell time trying to figure it out. I'm not a programmer by any respect and have never grown up to use the command console at all, so I'm quite literally befuddled at the part to run the .Jar file. The farthest I've gotten was identifying the containing folder, running the jar file with the java line gives me an non recognized input error. Could you school me on how the command console works so I can use this plugin correctly? Also, do you plan on making this an executable file in future updates, for those of us who never learned the command console? The easier accessibility may draw in more users to this item as well as the campaign!
  8. I use FRAPS for my screenies :3 On my first station launch, I got a core in orbit and my lifter came back down safely...ish I don't think that's supposed to be upside down..... better look at this newfangled technology more closely...
  9. Calling someone a cheater in a sandbox game is just silly. Sandboxes are meant to be played the way you want to play it. But sadly you're going to have your idiot try-hard gamers scream about "proper play" in an EARLY DEVELOPMENT BUILD, because god forbid you get creative and discover bugs to help the game's development process go more smoothly.
  10. It's taking a back seat o.o It's not GONE, just planned for later
  11. the Grand Mission: Land a colony on every planet and moon in the Kerbal universe! Our very first mission, is to construct Kerbin's first first star base to lay down infrastructure. We have a station core in orbit, but one of the Kerbonauts sat on the throttle for a little too long and placed it in an eccentric orbit and released the lifter drone, where it used it's fancy science to make itself return to Kerbin on it's own. The lifter drone did make it back home, but the recovery teams found it in a very interesting manner.... This picture was captured by the retrieval team Maybe we should look into that fancy science a little more closely...
  12. Sorta. The complicating side of it all is that your GPU relies on your CPU to reach it's full potential and vice versa. Which means pairing a Single Core with a pair of GTX Titans would really get you no where because your CPU would bottle-neck the GPU's potential. Same goes if you get an i7 hexa-core processor and pair it up with a Radeon HD 3850. So you need to try to match the capabilities of both parts together to get the best results. As for the game, it's barely close to reaching v.20 Which to my knowledge means it's about 20% into active development. so from here until the big day of v1.0 we'll surely see a slew of performance enhancements! v.20 is said to contain a few performance tweaks that should help some!
  13. Would an ISA MapSat array count toward the Eye in the Sky achievement?
  14. Started a save for this challenge, hopefully I can pull it off with Ferram enabled! Update: I lied, I'm not cool enough to make it work! XD
  15. sadly no, BUT you can use physical time warp by pressing ALT+(.) Use with caution, as physical time warp may summon the space kraken!
  16. So that's where my K-box 720 went! TO THE MOON! I mean... MÃœN!!
  17. Trial and Error(By FIRE). So a combination of both xD Coming up with meticulous plans and then winging them in hopes of not falling back down in a heap of scrap and charred Kerbal.
  18. Hello, I'm Reavermyst, just another wannabe kerbalnaut off to take over the solar system! Don't mind me!
  19. Well when making any landing on the Mun, you have to realize that even though there is less gravity, there is no atmosphere to slow you down. So how do you slow your decent with a rover? Well you don't unless you intend on making a massive rover. What you should do, is either place it on a lander(if it's a Kerbal driven rover) or use a skycrane. Essentially, a skycrane is a vessel that moves objects in low gravity. They're usually built with a docking port or decoupler on the bottom of the craft to hold the object, and have struts to hold the thrusters just far enough to keep from damaging the object it's carrying. Feel free to look up skycranes, they're commonly used. So once you have your skycrane and rover on a rocket that can take you to the Mun, you go through your usual deal to reach Munar orbit, then release the rover and skycrane to make an de-orbit burn(Simply burn retrograde until your path leads toward the Mun). if you plan on landing the skycrane, gradually decrease your velocity as you get closer by burning retrograde. I personally strive for a safe landing speed of under 10 m/s but I think you'll be able to get away with slightly higher speeds. If you don't plan on landing the skycrane, do the same deal, but HOVER just above your landing point before releasing your rover. This is trickier to do, as being too low could result in you running your exhaust over the Rover and being too high can cause it to break on landing. The plus side is that it's easier to build a skycrane that doesn't land with it's payload. Also, don't trust the altimeter to be 100% accurate because that measures your distance from sea level or in this case(if I'm correct) the Mun's lowest point. Anyway, good luck on your Mun landing!
