  1. In my opinion, we either continue using rockets or we think outside the box and build some sort of ground based launch structure. Apart from the discovery of a new type of engine, I'm not sure the costs of rockets is ever going to exceed the extra cost of launching all that landing gear, wings, maintanence and habitation compartments you get with shuttles. Earth is simply to hard to escape from.
  2. I don't use it to cheat by stuffing things inside fuel tanks. I do use it to get around some unreasonable placement denying scenarios, and generally putting the little niggly bits where I want.
  3. There are anomalies to visit on most places, but once you've landed a Kerbal on every planet and moon, and then returned to Kerbin, you've essentially completed the game.
  4. I'm guessing that such a big update will force you to start anew. It'll probably break a load of the mods too, so I'm going to get a fresh install.
  5. It was my understanding that due to the fact they are made of dark matter, they aren't really aware of much "normal" matter objects and therefore can't notice simple species like us.
  6. Landers Getting a Kerbal onto a planet or moon, and bring them back to Kerbin is the ultimate achievement. Stations, Rovers and multipart ships are just there to facilitate the journey of the brave Kerbanaut.
  7. Maths, people, Maths! There is more than one number so it has to be plural.
  8. Small countries like Poland should just get adsorbed into bigger countries. Tiny little places don't really contribute much on their own and would be put to better use as part of a larger country. [Moderator Comment - The tiny counties of the world would like a word with you]
  9. If your pereapsis has to have a speed above C, then you've crossed the event horizon and are now doomed.

Always plot interplanetary missions from LKO. If you don't plan to orbit Kerbin at any stage (orbits you've transfered out from before completing one revolution count though) then you've wasted delta v. The most efficient burns happen on the opposite side of Kerbin to your intended destination.
  11. We haven't evolved above ants. They are just another solution to the problem of survival on Earth. Since they've been around much longer than humans, their solution is tried and tested to a greater degree, and can be considered more successful.
  12. Burning from Kerbin is always the most efficient way.
  13. Unless you miraculously had them lined up perfectly and hit first time with just enough speed from LKO to be bang on, I very much doubt you actually saved weight by burning all that extra fuel manouvering instead of just letting the RCS make it easier.
