  1. Today I started designing and launching my RemoteTech orbital network. Deciding to have a crew take charge of it I put a small one man capsule in orbit with four KomSat Mk1 satellites attached at the side. The idea was to deploy them thus: 1. Achieve orbit. 2. Release satellite 3. Increase apogee, wait, then decrease again back to original obit. 4. Repeat until all satellites released . 5. Land 6. Beer Upon successful orbit I went to release KomSat K1 and realized that I hadn't attached any of the satellites with decouplers and what I had launched wasn't a satellite network creation ship but instead a pirate radio ship.
  2. I've raised an eyebrow a couple of times but so far it's only niggles. By biggest surprise was that you had to launch a crewed capsule to unlock a probe core. I would have moved the Stayputnik Mk. 1 to stage one and make sure it had enough power to transmit once, and put the command pod and parachute in stage two.
  3. There's a mod that contains welded parts, removing the need to use so many struts. I'd like to see welding brought in, where you can take a subassembly and invest research and/or money and produce a welded part.
  4. Does anybody remember an old 16 bit game called Cannon Fodder ? It was essentially a 2d scroller with little soldiers. The main menu page was a picture of this green hill next to the recruiting building, and that hill would acquire gravestones as you reckless got your men slaughtered. Could we have one of those? A graveyard next to the astronaut complex that filled up as brave Kerbals give their life to science.
  5. Finally got my first Kethane extractor and refinery down on the Mun. I found that the 4 rtg's we're sufficient to constantly power the two large drills when extracting nor to constantly power the converters. But I managed to fill up, fully refuel the rig and then fill up with kethane again. I then was able to launch, rendezvous and dock with Harmony Station (my Mun station) carrying a full load of kethane. Tonight I'm going to design a refinery and storage module for Harmony. This will launch and rendezvous with the tug docked at Rhapsody Station (my LKO station) and then on to Harmony. Then a probably redesigned surface extractor with more power and I'll crash the old one on the surface. The long term goal of all of this is to allow the Mun to act as my refueling point for interplanetary craft. Once that's done set up a similar one around either Duna or Ike, which will be called Symphony Station.
  6. Getting ready for a crewed Duna expedition. One large orange tank with 4 nuclear engines as the booster. This has a 6 way docking attachment on the end which is currently holding the lander, and will later hold the rover and a habitation module. I'm hoping this booster can be re-used for other missions upon return Kerbin with the crew/bodies, perhaps to Jool's moons later on.
  7. I'm looking forward to the updated ASAS/SAS mechanic. I watched the video yesterday and it look really cool. I've been using the Docking Strut mod to keep my docked craft stable, might not have to do that post .21
  8. One for fans of the classic graphic novel: I've not had enough time with .20 to actually plant it anywhere yet !
