  1. Enjoyed reading chapter 1! Looking forward to the second when you can write it
  2. I love Jool. Looking at from LKO with Distant Object Enhancement, it looks so enticing, and the fact that there are plenty of diverse places to visit make it seem less barren and desolate (I'm looking at you, Dres).
  3. Think its Minmus with Better Atmospheres installed
  4. Today, I built a pretty simple but practical station and docked to it with an SSTO. I am so happy with the results: The SSTO, built with Porkjet's amazing SpacePlane Plus parts, is probably my nicest ever thing. But it was a very close call as the nose of the SSTO is millimeters away from the solar array Bob, our EVA specialist, checked for damage Then Joemund (not our EVA specialist) got in a fight with a solar panel, and I had to use KAS to seperate them. This shark looking thing was the result.. The nose of the SSTO was c̶l̶i̶p̶p̶i̶n̶g̶ cleverly attached to one of the girders.. Then I sent up a fuel module to refuel the SSTO as it was drained They will return when I̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶b̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ they have completed their experiments in a couple of weeks. All in all, a successful mission and one that I had a lot of fun doing - the SSTO in particular is one of my favourite creations.
  5. Use whatever mod you want and enjoy playing the game. Don't think this thread will last long to be honest..
  6. Liberals Value Tabasco Burning People For the moons of Jool?
  7. My Emerald Koala Died Drowning (in) Jelly Extract That got weird fast
  8. RocketPilot is right. 99.9% certain that the torque from the SAS or Command Pod is applied at the centre of mass, no matter where they are placed, just to make things easier. My station began shaking apart *I think* because it had too many SAS units on it. Once I disabled them, it stopped shaking.
  9. A lot of my early Mun landers turned in to permanent Mun bases due to sudden and unplanned departure of certain parts of the vessel. Obviously caused by external factors and not my failure to land
  10. I think the hate for MechJeb comes from the idea of having the game being played for you. Nobody has any grief for the information it gives. ON TOPIC: I thought of another sin: I leave Kerbals in space station for years, sometimes decades at a time.
  11. He's just making a joke i.e. implying he has committed atrocities to Kerbalkind and he won't confess to it unless you have proof.
  12. I spend hours and hours designing missions that don't leave the launchpad. For one reason or another, probably 60% of my missions are scrapped after I have spent a long time designing them. I asparagus the hell out of launchers. Unrealistic, bizarre and ugly, but stupidly overpowered and incredibly effective.
  13. Today, I finished my favourite station so far - Ares LKO. Technically it has capacity for 36 Kerbals but I like to have no more than 7 in at any one time. I also have a 7 man CTV docked. CTV on approach Lit up against the backdrop of Kerbin - empty SRB's make for surprisingly good structural elements Showing off the lights - due to my ineptitude, those solar panels don't get any light (and I don't want to change the orientation ) View from the lower deck of CTV This took a few solid hours of work to get built, and it underwent a major redesign once the previous solar array turned out to be horrendously unstable. I installed a new one, complete with inflatable hab modules and disabled the reaction wheels, and all seems good again.
  14. Yes! I'm a bit of a snob so I put off downloading this until it had an IVA. Now I can play with it! Thanks man
  15. I had a lot of delta v left after a manned Duna landing that before I returned to Kerbin, I went out of my way to rendevouz an asteroid that was closer to Eve than it was to Kerbin (I went through loads and tracked them just for fun:) ). It took another few years to rendevouz and it seemed a little weird that I only got 60 science for a sample, but I got to rename it, and it marks a personal achievement. I am still yet to put one in to Kerbin orbit though!
  16. Weren't there plans by the devs to turn Laythe in to a volcanic wasteland with pools of lava? Imagine not being able to see where you're landing and falling in to a volcano
  17. I like career because it gives me the opportunity to design missions in a way I wouldn't previously have done, but when i'm about 3/4 of the way through the tech tree I try and complete it as soon as possible so I can focus on projects that won't need science
  18. I sent an aquatic base to Laythe using the radial intakes as floats The base in all its glory Hard at work! The team pose for a photo Jool as seen from the Cupola I plan on sending them a jetski to play with, complete with a claw for all of my docking needs.
  19. I love the way Laythe is turning out, and this mod makes everything look so much better! However, when Laythe is redone, landing is going to be incredibly hit and miss!
  20. I like to make sure my Kerbals are comfortable. On interplanetary missions, I send either the Hitchhiker storage container or the Science Lab as the Lab can hold infinite experiments. Even my LKO station has capacity for 19, but there can only ever be 6 Kerbals up there at any one time due to docking port availability. I like to keep the realism
  21. Installed Environment Visual Enhancer and the Better Atmosphere mod. Kerbin and the Mun look stunning! Then when docking my second CTV to a station at 300km, Joekin looked on as Bill and Bob approached.
