  1. I'll add that for next tournament. Do you think it should be a wing limit, or just a general, no wing spamming rule?
  2. Unfortunately I feel like the only way to beat it is to spam wings everywhere. I'm trying to keep these designs slightly realistic, and I admit, the wing spam works great, but I despise it. It's just a bit ridiculous. But if people don't want rules against wing spamming, or having a wing limit, then I guess we can all just spam wings on our designs.
  3. Look at all of you with your fancy planes... and everything I build dies in 7.3 seconds... *sobbing*
  4. This is probably irrelevant now, but whatever: Revised Statistics: 79 parts 12.5 tons Point Calculation: 1 x GAU-8 "Avenger" Cannon: 1 x 11 = 11 points 1 x 30mm Ammunition Storage: 1 x 4 = 4 points 6 x "Sidewinder" missiles: 6 x 4 = 24 points 4 x Countermeasure Pods: 4 x 5 = 20 points Total: 59 points In my testing, it so far has a 100% winrate versus all designs it has faced, including the XMF-1B; hopefully I can enter it in the next tournament. Craft File Basically put wings everywhere? Hm. The rules might need a bit of a rethink. (Not hating on you or your design, I just don't really like the concept of spamming wings everywhere. It's not exactly an art.)
  5. I would like that too, however I want to allow people to design aircraft to their own advantages. Maybe I'll do a guns only tourney in the future.
  6. I was considering lowering missiles by maybe a point and raising coutermesures by a point or two when I made the thread, but decided to leave it open to input.
  7. It depends on how many countermeasure pods the opponent has. I've found that 4 pods defeats a volley of missiles most of the time. I don't know though, maybe I'm wrong.
  8. Yeah tell me what's it's like. I'm considering it. It would look cool, but you know, I don't want to ruin the dogfighting aspect.
  9. The laser you want to add is on a turret, right? That's the problem. We don't want turreted weapons in the challenge.
  10. Missiles are next to useless in the fights. I'm considering making them 2 points.
  11. I think I left cockpit torque on, for mine. If it's a rule we need it off, can you do that, Pixel?
  12. Well, at most be can get third. But still, nice try, you had a cool design
  13. Yeah. If the designs are both well matched, one round can end up being 15+ minutes. Usually the one with the most fuel wins, then.
  14. Is this your next entry? Otherwise, take it somewhere else. This thread is for entries and tourney discussion. By the way, the laser isn't allowed in this tourney - - - Updated - - - I'll add that to the OP.
  15. Wrong. Clipping engines removes the need for things to attach them to. Adapters, whatever you may use to place 2 engines on the plane.
  16. Adding no clipping to OP. (You can have things clipping, just not completely inside eachother. And things like ammo are okay too)
  17. Have you ever seen a bat fly in a blizzard? No? That's what I thought. This tournament should be fun
  18. Yeah. After the tournament it's even better. Just fine tuning your plane into an ultimate death machine.
  19. We usually have the fights right next to the KSC so the mountains shouldn't be a problem. But you can keep it high. t3hJimmer is right. It doesn't make a huge difference.
  20. Please download when the contest starts, still need to tune the AI Flight. Default Altitude: 2000 meters Min Altitude:650 meters SteerFactor: 15 Steer Limiter:.55 SteerDamper:5 You might want to lower the default altitude. From my experience, the plane to reach altitude first, usually wins, because it forces the other plane to go defensive. Of course, with a high default altitude, your plane won't have any chance of smashing into the ground. Until it loses its wing, at least.
  21. If you need to just use the offset tool and push the wings in.
  22. I am quite happy that I got a loaded fighter to be this fast. Faster than an SR71 without overheating, yay. But, I am entering that into the tournament. Anyone have any ideas on how good it will be? It can keep an aeris 3a off of its tail in a turning fight, weighs almost 14 tons, and, well, the spec sheet describes the rest. Is it any good for the tournament? F-25 Peregrine2 AMRAAMs 4 AIM 9s 2 Hidden Vulcans 1 Ammo Box 2 Countermeasures Pods Top Speed: 1250 m/s due to drag (loaded) 2x JX-4 Whiplash Turboramjet Engines Mass:13,894 kg 3.8 m Tall 10.1 meters Wide 7.9 m Long Parts:62 I'll be honest, in past tournaments, the plane to make it to minimum altitude first usually one. And being a hefty 14 tons, it might lack a little there. However if it's noticeably better on other aspects, it could do fine.
  23. That would work. But it is up to Pixel for this one. Yeah I'm not sure double elimination is a great idea. I don't think there's a point.
  24. 7,188 kg, 36 parts 1x "Whiplash" RamJet 2x AIM-9 (4x2 = 8) 2x Vulcan (Hidden) (9x2 = 18) 2x 20mm Ammo Box (4x2 = 8) 2x Countermeasure Pods (5x2 = 10) 44 points Edit: Are multiple entries allowed? I assume so, but I don't see it in the OP. If so: My second entry is the SlamTek Sparrowhawk 1-B fighter. Download link Coming soon! 10,403 kg, 44 parts 6x AIM-9 (4x6 = 24) 1x GAU 30mm Cannon (11) 2x 30mm Ammo Box (4x2 = 8) 2x Countermeasure Pods (5x2 = 10) 53 points I'll add that too. One entry per tourney to keep it balanced. Also, I'll make rocket pods allowed. 3 points?
