  1. OK, now follows a very intimate confession, but I trust you guys: For me, this is also like a frustration valve. Why frustration, I hear you ask? Because I know in real life the chance getting into space is so small, it will most likely never happen. I'm 31 one now, I lack the skills to travel to space. I can neither fly a plane or dive, I have only a little idea of rocketry, I wear glasses, I'm a bit overweight. As a reference, I compare to Chris Hadfield, his physical condition and his skills. So KSP offers me the chance to get my portion of space travel before I die. )
  2. Well, you know what to do then, guys. Will ask for this thread being closed until this is reality.
  3. OK everybody, listen up! I don't know if this belongs here, if not, please move or delete - but this is an affair of the heart! I just discovered that Kerbal Space Program is listed on metacritic: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/kerbal-space-program But! There's not one single review about it! I repeat: Not one single review! As a result of this, there is also no score. KSP hasn't deserved this. OK, soldier, so I call every Kerbalian here on the forum to vote for KSP, create a nice review with a nice score and post it there. Why? For me, metacritic has always been the first point when checking if a new game is worth trying out. Most of the time, when I see no metascore or a score under 50, I give up before even trying. Imagine this with new KSP-interested people! Maybe they miss the game of their lives! I will set a good example. At about 20:00 CET today I will also write a long and good-mooded review. So! Why are you still standing there, staring at me? Move it!
  4. W00000t!! No way! Hahahaha, this is so awesome and cool and strange and funny and pure genius in one! Great work, Lordherrmann! I'm totally endorsing this!
  5. Welcome, MyIronGiant, to the forum! How are your probes constructed? Do they bear any science utilities? How do you power them? And how many tries did you need to get them to a stable orbit?
  6. General Dreagon, Sir, I see you are from the Netherlands? Welcome to the forum!
  7. hiul, I think we are all very glad to have you aboard! Where are you from? I'm totally convinced this game will become real mainstream (like Minecraft) very soon and you can proudly call yourself a verteran in those days! They will find their way. With your help. It will be a hard and long run, but that doesn't matter. Together with your Kebals you will also mature as a rocket technician!
  8. Huh? Why not openly say it? I can take it. It came up in my thread about Kerbal culture and yes, I strongly support and encourage this thread here and hope to see a lot of answers by real female gamers.
  9. OK, here is one more to get this started: Rocket Kerbal (song by Elton Kerman) He packed my bags last night, pre-flight Zero hour, nine a.m. And I'm gonna be high as a kite by then I miss the Kerbin so much, I miss my science toys It's lonely out in space On such a timeless flight And I think it's gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the Kerbal they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket Kerbal Rocket Kerbal, burning out his fuse up here alone And I think it's gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the Kerbal they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket Kerbal Rocket Kerbal, burning out his fuse up here alone Duna ain't the kind of place to raise your kids In fact it's cold as hell And there's no one there to raise them if you did And all this science, I don't understand It's just my job five days a week A rocket Kerbal, a rocket Kerbal And I think it's gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the Kerbal they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket Kerbal Rocket Kerbal, burning out his fuse up here alone And I think it's gonna be a long, long time ‘til touch down brings me round again to find I'm not the Kerbal they think I am at home Oh no, no, no, I'm a rocket Kerbal Rocket Kerbal, burning out his fuse up here alone And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time And I think it's gonna be a long, long time
  10. I want to give a short statement on that Kerbal women topic, to finish this issue so the thread gets further great ideas for the list. I would really appreciate Kerbal women in the game and yes, also on the rockets, and even more I encourage every gamergirl / gamerwoman to play this game and be merry with us all.
  11. Hallo Lordherrmann, werd mich da gleich mal anmelden. Canopus, danke für den Link!
13. Well, every Kerbal scientist (= you!) building space vessels and sending them into unknown terrain needs some songs to sing along with whilst doing daily work. So I took some Earth's songs and made them more Kerbalish! Maybe you'd like to contribute for the database of real Kerbal songs! I want to give you an example. If it doesn't always make sense, I'd like to apologize. English is not my native language. But I think you will get it. If you have more skills and it even rhymes, the better! Ah damn, maybe someone even has the courage to bring something similar into some form of YouTube-video or so. Space Kerbality (song by David Kerman) KSC to Major Kerman KSC to Major Kerman Take your snacks and put your helmet on KSC to Major Kerman Commencing countdown, engines on Check ignition and may Kod's love be with you [note by NetZer0: Kod = Kerbal God] Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff This is KSC to Major Kerman You've really made the grade And KNN wants to know whose shirts you wear Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare This is Major Kerman to KSC I'm stepping through the door And I'm floating in a most peculiar way And the stars look very different today [note by NetZer0: Must be a graphics update!! Bwahaha!] For here Am I sitting in a tin can Far above the world Planet Kerbin is green And there's nothing I can do Though I'm past one hundred thousand kilometres I'm feeling very still And I think my spaceship knows which way to go Tell my science officer I love him very much he knows KSC to Major Kerman Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong Can you hear me, Major Kerman? Can you hear me, Major Kerman? Can you hear me, Major Kerman? Can you.... Here am I floating round my tin can Far above the Mun Planet Kerbin is blue And there's nothing I can do.
  14. @Pachi3080: Cuteness is also a good argument. Will integrate that into the list.
  15. ...happened just yesterday. First time I had a good course to Mun. Everything went fine. Then, 100.000 kilometres above ground or so I decided to use time warp. Somehow, shortly before the surface, my PC began to stutter because something was blocking in the background - time warp didn't react anymore. So I crashed into Mun's ground with like 1200 metres / sec or so. Really annoying.
