1. There are more options than just crashing. The game could check and not load textures for parts once memory limit has beeen reached. This would allow you to continue playing. I'd prefer some textures missing from parts in my space station to a game crash. They could even design a placeholder texture with a symbol or some words like 'missing texture' or 'texture error' and use it instead any texture that couln't be loaded. And don't forget that we already have 2-5 secs lag spikes when the station enters physics simulation bubble. Loading textures up to 40-60MB on demand shouldn't make great difference.
2. The orbit is not blue. That tells you the orbit is the one AFTER your next encounter. Shape of orbits after encounters depends on your CONIC_PATCH_DRAW_MODE config variable (default is 3). In this case, the orbit drawn is your path in the next SOI as it will be seen from your actual parent body (IIRC).
3. Use this: https://alexmoon.github.io/ksp/ No need to wait until 'perfect' launch window if you have enough dV There is an ingame version as a plugin here And don't forget to avoid Ike. It gets in the way everytime I go to Duna. Good luck!!
4. In a single-player game, the only one you can cheat is yourself. Cheating oneself is common human behaviour.

I give up

Fresh install, started new sandbox save without changing any option. Still can't understand why it didn't fill the crew. Maybe the funny guys are right and I don't know how to launch a single ship like I did before in 0.18, 0.19, 0.20, 0.21, 0.22, 0.23, 0.23.5, 0.24, 0.25, 0.90, 1.0 and 1.0.X Forget it. I'm not in the mood to do further testing and read easy jokes. Mods, please close this thread.

I give up

That's the problem. Kerbals were added automatically to the first command pod (IIRC). If I'm not wrong, they changed that behaviour or it didn't work for me.
7. I don't play KSP since 1.0.4 (june?). In fact, I installed 1.0 to 1.0.4 just for testing purposes. My playing save is in 0.90 (and I don't play it any more). Got tired. Same bugs again and again, no performance optimization, memory leaks, ... Still don't understand why, but downloaded and installed 1.0.5. Maybe I'm just idiot. Maybe I believed the " Over 100 issues were fixed" that Harvester posted. So: 1- Launch the game 2- Go to VAB 3- Mk1-2 commmand pod 4- Add MK-16 XL parachute 5- Add Rockomax decoupler and remove it from staging to test the feature 6- Add orange tank 7- Add Skipper 8- Press Launch!! 9- ...!! 10- Call me back when you finish the game, Squad.
8. I'm playing other games. Someone call me back when the release the KSP 1.1.3 fix.
9. ^^this. I play with science and funds at 250% to reduce grind. Permadeath on, Remotetech and life support mod (LS is a must with remotetech installed). No reverts. Test launches are part of the game, I pay for them and, if manned, sometimes not just funds but kerbal lives. Asparagus staging and nervas are forbidden by Kerbin Law in my saves.
10. Same here, but two installs instead of three (stock and moded). New saves every time too.
11. "Too many mods"? There is no such thing. I only know about "not enough RAM"
12. @Geschosskopf: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerodynamic_heating Interesting reading... seems like we both were wrong Edit: Ninja'd
13. Nobody can say that. Nobody has data to prove any assertion about percentage of players using mods. Even Squad can't know if I'm using mods in my KSP install if I don't want to. We tried, but, after all, it's their game.
14. I think that's wrong. IIRC, reentry heat is generated mainly by air compression. Air in front of the object entering atmosphere is compressed due to object's speed, thus raising its temperature proportionally to compression. Heat is then transfered from air to the ship. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. On topic: Do you guys think Jool's atmosphere values should be tweaked to allow aerocapture?. TBH, I never tried the tylo assist, aerocapture at Jool was the easiest option until 1.0.3 and I never tried another.
15. Ninjas!!! I don't know how they do it, but, since nobody can see them, they must be ninjas.
16. Agreed. And, IMO, after the release of 1.0, people expects more % for polishing, even if new features take longer. Harvester said that KSP reached "scope completed", so polishing should be priority #1 (including, of course, Unity 5). This sentence Should have beeen written this way: There is an ongoing paradigm shift with software developers and distributors these days, and it's fair to say we(customers) are caught right in the middle of it. Developers want us to believe that the line between unfinished and finished software is getting increasingly more hazy, beacuse these days is easier for them to finish their work AFTER releasing it unfinished. They can release unfinished software and say they will continue developing, but that doesn't make it finished, at least, not until it reaches the adequate quality level.
17. While I don't agree with your post, I wasn't tempted to reply, because it was just a matter of opinion .... until i read that sentence. Fact: Obsolescence killed some editor symmetry bugs after the great editor overhaul (0.90). New symmetry bugs arose. Should we sit and wait for obsolescence again, for current bugs to be killed and new ones to be created?. Sorry, but it don't believe in the ever-evolving KSP game theory. Maneuver node creation bug has not become obsolete, is there since maneuver nodes and the system doesn't seem to be replaced or overhauled in the near future. I would like bugfixes more than obsolescence. Let me point out that performance issues rarely become obsolete. There is no debate: time spent fixing a low severity bug in a placeholder system is wasted time. Time spent fixing a bug in a system that has just been overhauled, with very low probability of being fully reworked again is a lot less than time spent waiting for obsolescence or developing new features which, inevitably, will introduce more bugs and beginning a nice bug-creating endless loop. OTOH, it could be funny.... Customer: - Devs, I found a bug in your system. Developers: - No problem, we are developing a new system that will make the bug obsolete. Customer: - Devs, I found THREE bugs in your new system. Developers: - No problem, we are developing THREE new systems that will make those THREE bugs obsolete. Customer: - Devs, I found THREE bugs in each of your THREE new system, totals NINE bugs, and decided to play tetris instead. Developers: - Haters will hate...
18. ^^ This. If asking for bugfixes and performance improvements is "hate", then I'm a "hater". Read here here for more "hate" reasons. Some of them were there when I bougth the game (0.18) and are still there (post 1.0-release-no more early access).
19. Sure, but is theirs too. Not constructive posts and rant is expected in every forum. They have a great communication tool, and they don't use it because some guys are annoyed/insluting/ranting whatever? They have moderators (guess... you're one of them).
20. So he was 5 pages (or one hour) later. Remember these are official forum. In the website kerbalspaceprogram.com they have a tab labeled "community" with a link here. I fail to see a link to Maxmaps' twiter or to somewhere in reddit. Maybe I'm wrong.
21. Of course. After how many pages complaining about their announce on twiter?
22. Right. People at Squad are so confident in our ability to search for info outside the forum that they don't post official info here any more.... EDIT: I was wrong: they use devnotes to announce marketing decisions.
23. and fix landing gear animation, antenna tweakable activation, maneuver nodes auto-closing or inability to place them, SPH auto-switching symmetry mode, kraken summoning claw, correct SAS behavior (at least the same in every mode) and many more FIXES and not FEATURES that have been there for more than one version and neglected every new release.
24. KSP for PS4 is great news? I couldn't care less. I don't own a PS4 and don't plan to buy one. Anyway, I wish good luck to Squad or whoever will do the port. Matters of my concern are: One suggestion: devnotes no longer deserve to be called 'devnotes'. Should I suggest 'Marketnotes'? Two questions: will memory leaks, poor aero balance and harmless reentry heat be ported to PS4 too? Will PC players get proper fixes, balance passes and serious testing before the PS4 KSP launch date (2016)?
