  1. So Ever since I saw the infamous O.A.S.I.S. stardock and it's smaller brother Terminus Core. the idea of a mobile science lab was stuck onto my mind for a long time (long enough for that thread to be passed in time), so when I tried (and chickened out of) moving a Drestroid back to kerbin. the final piece of the next generation Terminus finally rolled in. Thus this monstrosity of a WIP. And the formentioned former Drestroid mover - modified already to the following: I think this needs to be assembled in 3 pieces (not even counting the 2 orange drop tanks, 2 RCS tugs and a space asteroid mining rig either). Any advice?
  2. So I was over at reddit for this week's KSP challenge, trying to get something up to orbit in under 3:30...and my WIPs were...mixed
  3. It would've worked, except for the fact that Whackjob admitted that he's new to video editing in the 2nd vid... ps. it's been a while since I spoken up...
  4. I'd recommend Colonel_Panic's O.A.S.I.S Modular Station and the Terminus Sibling Station.
  5. I transfered Jeb, Bill, and Bob out of the OASIS Terminus Core with a modified CTV, modded beause karolus10 said something about it being able to only reach a 80km orbit (ie. 4 MOAR 30second boosters!). Then I have trust issues with mechjeb with it overshooting the KSP for landing, for I just aborted the landing, popped open the parachutes by "hand", and turn on the micro engines (fact, the ant engines does nothing noticable in the atmosphere if the amount of engines being used is less than 100). I was sort of correct on the landing part, cause I landed in front of the crew entrance of the VAB. addendum: Forgot about the OASIS fuel tank that I sent up and docked (and deorbited the assembler for the aforementioned CTV)
  6. Very nice, way better than my modified version of the Kerbal X. I presume you can slap 4 SRBs to let it get into a 100km orbit... *evil grin*
  7. Oddly enough, I did stopped the gimballing on the outer engines as well as selecting the probe core for control point from the start. Wish I had video recorded the whole launch now, it was rather entertaining to see the thing wobble after getting it out of the atmosphere. Edit: the first fuel core went up after reverting once due to me accidentally decoupling the fuel tank. Funny thing - i have to turn off the reaction wheel in the command module due to the 3 reaction wheels ate the batteries faster than the RTG can recharge them (if there was a RTG stowed onboard in the first place, i did not check...yet). At least i can throw the second fuel core into orbit faster later on.
  8. I got the Terminus Core up (after reinstalling MechJeb - subsequently the entire KSP installation by accident, twice), but I have to jettison the service lifter early due to the subsequent oscillations even with the additional struts before the orbital insertion burn, thus relying on the LV-Ns to finish the job. Though even then it was a bit wobbly (I blame MechJeb 2.0.9). Now to get 2 fuel cores up there to dock...wish me luck.
  9. ^ probably point the nose straight up while having all of the air-breathing engines on, as it's a lot easier to do so with all the torque that is being allowed to use
  10. Since the version 0.21.2, is it any easier to send up the (stock) terminus core to LKO, cause I tried it a few times yesterday and so far I can't seem to get it to circularize to a 100km orbit without it going out of control (and going without mechjeb since I have not done a clean install yet).
  11. It can't hurt to have the main load in the middle be lifted by the mainsail and have the extra tanks on the sides lifted by the cluster arrangement (of course it's all orange tanks), so there would be more fuel to feed the "monster".
  12. Really loving the seperatron "art" there. That might just be the inspiration I've been looking for. (ie.I was trying to rethink how I design my own boosters again, as mine's getting over complicated with the different engine types on board.)
  13. just wondering, how long did it took you to do the final assembly? (since I can't seem to find where you could've attached a probe core onto the arms)
  14. FIFY also: I didn't see seperatrons on there...time to find myself more ways to jam more of them onto that frame of a rocket of mine without losing the shape of a rocket.
  15. You know, with a few small changes, we might have the Federation Cruiser instead of the Kestrel.
