I think I win... May I present: The Ark! With 25 Hitchhiker Storage Containers, it holds 100 Kerbals as it orbits high above Kerbol. Picture or the Ark just after the SOI change: 100 Kerbals - 1 launch = 99 points. -

Challenge accepted! It takes 12 RTGs to power 1 Ion continuously, which weighs a bit less than 1t. The Nighthawk is now in development. UPDATE: Flight 01 The Nighthawk is now on its maiden flight! It has 1 Ion Thruster, 530kg (5300 units) of Xenon Gas, 12 RTGs, 2 Delta Wings, 2 Standard Control Surfaces, 2 Small Control Surfaces, and an OKTO2 probe. It uses Mechjeb to maintain a 90° heading and 16° pitch after taking off, and after 15 minutes and 19000 meters of surface travel, it has yet to crash. Debrief: After reaching an orbital velocity of 207 m/s, an altitude of 2700m, and flying over 61km across the surface, the flight was ended due to the fact that it took 40 minutes to reach this point. -

I saw some youtuber playing it. Maybe kurtjmac, or Nerd3. I now have 936 hours logged ingame[sOURCE:Steam].

I always use MechJeb I do it for everything. Especially landings I once launched a KSO space station module to KSO. The sin is that it was 0.5 orbits behind the station.

Hmm, does each kerbal have to be in an individual capsule? Ie; Is it allowed to land something like your second picture in one piece?

First: There are no stock eva parachutes, guns, or harpoons. Second: This sounds like an interesting challenge, assuming that it is modified so you are dropping and actual ship, not evaed kerbals.

What is your definition of far? Far, as in distance from Kerbin? Edit: Nevermind. I just realized your ship is judged on ÃŽâ€v, not distance. Also, I know of a tool that can design a ship, optimizing for mass, part count, or cost... -

I've always wanted the R&D part of KSP to actually include Development... Idea for engines: Unlock types of fuel (Liquid, Air-Breathing, Nuclear, Ion, etc), Thrust modifiers, ISP modifiers, etc. via the tech tree, then mix and match them to develop custom engines. -

Suggestion: Rockets could be saved, then be used as a payload for another rocket. For example: I want to go to the Mun and back. The optimizer first makes a LMO return rocket, which then goes on a Munar Lander, which goes on a LKO->LMO transfer module, which goes on a Lifter. These all are saved, but have independent algorithmic inputs. -
I put a geosynchronous station in orbit around Kerbin! Then I realized. The station's orbital position was opposite KSC's surface location. That makes launches from KSC to dock with the station a lot longer.
