  1. Hey. All the craziness of this update, I've been sticking with 0.20 to do Mission "Vacation on Laythe" (a personal mission). One of the sub-missions is to make high speed boats that, well, will do their job. I understand that this is supposed to be a space simulator, and water physics aren't what they should be, but.. we all bend the rules occasionally. I mean, look at what Hooligan Labs is doing with their airships. Disclaimer: I use cheats, so fuel isn't a problem for me. So I made this thing. It's a highly modified version of my Speed Rover: I want this thing to, well, "fly" over the water at high speed, like a speed boat. The problems I'm having, it likes to veer left constantly, even with ASAS on. Also the front sinks down as you can imagine from the air-breathing engines. I had the two side engines to the sides of the main engine before, but the problem is, I also need this thing to be mobile out of water, as part of my.. "mission", which is a on-shore sphere launchpad that can spawn this (would serve as a boat launcher). This is why it has the rover wheels, to get it into the water. And the sphere is a Medium sphere, so I also need to keep what goes down the ramp, as compact as possible. It has modified Stock parts with 99999 in 'crashTollerance' to keep the engines and other pieces from breaking due to "splashed down hard and was destroyed". I also tweaked the weight of the engines to be weigh less so the CoM wouldn't be shifted to the back. Each weighs 0.5t. So, any idea to make this work? I'm up for suggestions, as long as you understand my intentions for this. I had thought of putting an inflatable balloon on the top to keep the entire thing straight, but I think that would cut the speed drastically (and make it wobble because of the balloon).

  3. Hmm. Hitchhiker Module Tour Bus on Duna with this IVA of seeing the terrain going by... (totally for science, no joyriding here!) Wait.. the fact it has IVA, does this mean auto-Control From Here is also there, or is it not a Command Pod? Though this also concerns me, because I have a smaller sized version for standard-sized rockets. Does the IVA also scale?

  8. I would be saying "Hell yeah! Take that, game maker!" But in all reality, it's their game. And I've learned over the years of multiple games, that if the devs do something that upsets people but makes others praise them (like this), there's nothing really you can do about it except play another game. I seriously doubt they did this to piss people off. I mean, think about it, this game, like Minecraft was, is the first of its kind. There's always going to be awesome things that are added, and some awesome things will break (or in this case, stop working to make it the way the devs wanted it to be). That's how development works.
  9. The only time I had ever use Winglets on a rocket, was back in 0.16. All of my rockets have been winglet-free in 0.20 and have turned with little to no problem. Only reason they spun out or didn't turn fast enough to do a burn, was design flaws. I guess I got lucky. They always had ASAS. And this is a good reason to stay away from this update. One because it breaks saves (though isn't that big of a deal for me, to be honest). Two because some mods that I use are broken (with time, they might/will be updated). And three, this. From what I'm hearing, about the new ASAS having less torque, it makes you feel you downgraded back to before there was even ASAS in the game. It made me lose interest in it. We all have our own playst-- *sigh* I'll just be over here in this corner, wishing I could play another game if it wasn't for my motherboard. Just wasting my breath here. This is SQUAD's game, and if they want to do changes like this, we can't do anything about it except not play it or stick with 0.20 (which I'm doing). That's the reality. I'm just glad that their launcher of the online store version, doesn't keep pestering you to update like Minecraft's does.

  11. See the title. Say you decide to edit a Stock part, and as an example, boost the max thrust of an engine. You get into its part.cfg file, edit to what you want, save it, load, and it creates a copy of that engine. One with your changes, and one without them. Problem is, the one without has priority over the one with, making the one with pointless, until you get the folder out of /Squad and put it into something like /ModdedStuff/Parts/ in GameData, will it finally use what you edited. Is there a way to prevent having to do this? Or is it just the way the game engine handles parts?
  12. Glad I haven't updated yet. Hearing about how "ASAS is weaker" and "reaction wheels"(don't even know what they are). Now if you would excuse me, I have a Laythe base to set up in 0.20.

  14. I was hoping EL would work for my floating Laythe base. Unfortunately, what I build just floats in suspended air right over the launchpad. I'm forced to put the base on the shoreline. Meh. Well, I'll still make it work.
  15. Login to the store and go to your profile. At the bottom should be a download to the full version you purchased. It's how I updated from 0.16 to 0.20.
  16. I use that little control box with the two lights on it, with all of my space-going ships.
  17. Unknown if it works. Try it. But I say, do it. This will solve a lot of problems.
  18. I wish they made the Mini-ASAS Module and the mini sphere Fuel/Oxidizer tanks Stock.
  19. Why are we even raging over this? Just wait 'till HyperEdit is updated for .21 and use that to get your base/factory/station back where it was. That's what I'll be doing. I'm not crying over this. I still have 0.20 to play with. Yes, there's the "we got these things there LEGIT!" I know, but it'll save you a LOT of grief by just doing this. Better than complaining about it.
  20. Still enjoying 0.20.2 here, waiting for mods to be updated. Not enjoying the constant 500 errors because everyone wants to post their experiences.

  22. You guys make my Speed Rover look sad. It can get up to 60m/s before the wheels pop. But I got up to 153m/s before losing control with modded wheels that won't pop. Uses an Aerospike Engine.
