  1. Is there any way to create a 'pseudo' point, just based on its orbital location, to be able to use as a target??? For instance, I wish to place a comms sat ahead and behind Mun, in Mun's same orbit just ahead and behind by xxxxx km's. I can do a hit or miss approach playing with nodes and pushing and pulling them, but there 'should' be a way to put in a desired location to be a target. thanks for any info. DrTedAstro.
  2. That looks great. the ability to look at the 3D map is fantastic, but I would like that ability to look at the data in the 2D sense as well. as you are making / rendering this, can you also output the data in some form of a lat, lon, kethane value file as well?????? good stuff DrTedAstro
  3. I really like this idea. From quick high orbit pass you get 'general idea' of where the deposits are, and a relative notion to their size. The closer, finer exploration can give you better idea and start to pinpoint the location(s). The 'drill here' moment can come from very close, very precise measurements from the ground. And, it still might not be there. False reading, used to be there but it all escaped, etc..... Would give this a real exploration flavor. By the way, Geophysical (Oil and Gas) exploration is what I do / have done for 35 years..... While it would nice to make a big discovery, drill one hole and drain it, would be nice..... Never happens, not even in Kerbal space / time....... Good idea....
  4. Is there anyway to create a .png or other such display of the map and also the output of the survey. like into a .csv or such.????? thanks in advance. DrTedAstro
  5. Thanks for the info and so quick. Great group of people here on KSP.
  6. Hello to all; I am running this mod for the first time. I have my detectors working, and can see the hex map in the tracking center. However, from the tutorials and such, I thought there was a smaller map that was visible from the active ship. is this not the case, or am I doing something really dumb. my guess is the later.... thanks for any help. DrTedAstro.
  7. The mod Hydropack RCS has the ability to limit the RCS burns to be a percentage of max available. this is actually a setting for what percentage you want to use. Would it be possible to create a mod that would be able to access the thrust setting via the ksp api or such?????
  8. Is there any other way to 'stick parts together' in orbit other than by using docking collars? I want to build some larger structures that do not have the wobble that is associated with the docking collars. any help and or suggestions would and will be greatly appreciated. DrTedAstro.
  9. Ok, so nobody has any ideas on how to turn down the power of the eta jetpacks????? come on, someone must know how to do this simple thing...????
  10. Thanks for the ideas. I am still 'heavy handed', but slowly getting there. I would still love the ability to knock down the power for when I am working around my stations, and then go full power if I want to do planet jumping. Maybe someone will chime in that knows where and which parameter can be 'tweaked'.. thanks to all.
  11. For some reason, I am having a terrible time trying to control my kerbals during EVA's. I have tried CAPS LOCK to see if that would give me 'fine' control for the thrust, but it does not seem to . I am looking for some way to turn down the thrust that is being applied to the EVA jetpack, at least until I figure out how to fly it better. Any modification that I can make to some parameter to drop power down to say 25% of what it is now. thanks. DrTedAstro
  12. fractl, for some reason I have no volume for your posted vid. all others are fine, but no sound. did you make a silent movie???? thanks. DrTedAstro
  13. Is there any way to 'create' a target, based on ( SoI 'Kerbin', Lat yyy.yyyy', Lon 'xxxx.xxx', Alt 'zzzzz.zz' ) ?
  14. Thanks for the reply's. Trying the higher, hotter, straight down the throat approach now....
  15. How do I keep landing guidance from trying to go through a mountain that is in the landing path? On Minimus, I have crashed many times due to the landing approach only taking into account the elevation at landing site, and not the terrain along the flight path. Am I doing something wrong? I am new to KSP (love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) so most likely the problem is me. thanks for any info and help. DrTedAstro
  16. will there be any updates to support ksp 0.20.?? ???? I sure hope so...
  17. I have the mod working in 0.20.2.186 and was wondering, are the camera 'movies' saved anywhere on disk? sorry for 'noob' question, but i am new to this and have not been able to find anything regarding this. thanks for the great mod(s) and such. drtedastro.
  18. Dug into it a little deeper and found 'my' problem... oops. All is working OK now... Thanks anyway and i am sure i will have other questions later.
  19. First, thanks for such a fun addon. I have been unsuccessful in getting any temperature data from my probe(s). The units show up, but readings are all zero. all other data is coming across and in ok. i am running newest ksp and newest 0.20 from here. anyone seen this before and or have any ideas of what simple thing i am doing wrong? many thanks
