  3. hi! just wanna ask if OPTSpaceplanes is good for 1.4.3. I know it hasn't updated but will it catastrophically break? thanks

      Were you using Real Fuels before? It's been updated for 1.4.3

      If you were using Real Fuels before and are not doing it now then the reported tank volume would be different. Stock liquid resources are assumed to be 5 liters (and thus, RF would report tank volumes 5x than stock does)

      Make sure that any plugins that it needs are updated for 1.4.3

      OPT itself is just a parts pack so it can't really be broken by updates. 3rd party plugins are another matter.

      It's an inflatable 'heat shield' (more properly an inflatable aeroshell) that doesn't exist in KSP yet. I hope to entice some other modeler to create it.

      Its features would be lower profile / flatter bottom with a rigid nose, landing legs and engines (or attachment points behind animated doors for same)

      It's based on an actual proposal that addresses some concerns with inflatables that any KSP player who has used the inflatable shields would be familiar with. Namely, what to do with the thing after it's served its purpose. Eject it? It comes back up to smack you. Flip around and eject it behind you? That can be difficult to do especially safely. So the proposal is to just keep it and use integrated rockets and landing legs for the descent. Once down, retract the aeroshell. Easy peasy?

      @Shadowmage @Nertea ?

      Would this interest either of you enough to take it on?

  8. Hi Starwaster,

    You probably don't remember, but we spoke briefly after Melificent passed. I mentioned my own cat, Charlotte, who resembles Melificent. Charlotte is now in her 19th year with stage 4 kidney failure but who refuses to act her age (in a good sense), although realistically this will be our last year together. I hope all is well with you. Just threw a post up on the DRE page in hopes that people looking for the solution to their KIS issues end up in the right place, and I hope you don't mind. Anyways, thank you for continuing to improve the KSP experience for all of us.

    Best,

    Scott aka eightiesboi

      Hey sorry to hear about Charlotte's health. If she's 19 though, it sounds like she's had a good life to get this far
