  1. I've found his tutorials very helpful. Not so much from the orbital mechanics point of view ( I've been using Orbiter for years and have that stuff down fairly well ) but as to how to get stuff done in KSP specific terms. Every time my wife hears " Helllloooooo, Scott Manley here " coming from the computer speakers she cracks up laughing....
  2. Well that didn't take long for a reply ! Thanks mate Now how do I mark this as "answered" - or does a mod have to do that ? never used a forum with this feature before...
  3. Can I control an unmanned rover as if it had a camera on it rather than using a chase or top down view ?
  4. Locking the gimbals on the outboard engines helps a lot. To save the hassle of locking each motors gimbals individually I set it up as a custom action in the VAB so it's just one key press when on the pad.
  5. I can help you out there - kind of... I watched Neil Armstrong step off the LEM in '69 but I was too young to properly appreciate what was happening. I do remember our TV was this ancient valve ( tube, if you are American ) set from the 50's which had a screen the size and shape of a goldfish bowl and would start to smoke if left on for more than a couple of hours The Apollo program was almost over before I understood much about the practical realities of space travel, but that fantastic moment in '69 planted a seed in my brain that resulted in a lifelong interest in rockets, spaceflight and astronomy. Funnily enough I landed Bill and Jeb on the Mun yesterday, for the first time. I'm only using Gemini parts at the moment, so it was kind of like Apollo I 'eyeballed' parts of the trajectory though and used too much fuel - resulting in them being stranded in Kerbin orbit on the return trip. But I sent up a probe to dock with their capsule so they could use it's engine to de-orbit and get home safely. Not sure what my next step is...but I know it'll be fun...

    Hola from Spain

Cykyrios - I do really try to keep my Kerbals alive, they are cute little blokes and it's more fun and challenging that way. For me anyway That would have been way up north of us then - we live down south in Murcia, on a small farm in the country. Did you like Spain ? , the Spanish are really nice people in our opinion - we love it here. My grandad was from Michigan - but that's a REALLY long story
  7. Hola ! - my name is Sid. I'm English but I live in Spain nowadays. A friend recommended KSP to me, knowing I'm crazy about rocketry and spaceflight. I love it. Not too much of a learning curve either ( although I haven't done anything more challenging than a Mun flyby yet ) Science should be fun, especially rocket science. And KSP is safer than some of the real world model rocket engines I used to build ( it's a miracle I never blew myself up... ) Safer for me that is, not the Kerbals
