Modded and Vanilla Steam KSP
Killerdude8 replied to Keymaster89's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
KSP has no DRM, So you can Copy that folder Everywhere you want, Nothing bad will happen, Just don't make the copy someplace it will get forgotten or deleted. Infact, There is a Steam feature that gives you a button to Backup Game folders and what have you. 1) No problems, You are free to mod to your hearts content. 2) Just copy pasting/Copy dragging the folder to the desired location is enough. 3) I believe swapping the folders is the answer you're looking for. 4) The only limit is the Memory(RAM) which currently, the game being 32bit, is 3.5GB. 5) Saves are KerbalSpaceProgram/saves/[insert save name here]/Persistent.sfs OR quicksave.sfs -
Number Transmissions like Tempurature, Crew reports and EVA Reports should have 100% Transmission returns.

Theory vs. Practice: The ARM parts.
Killerdude8 replied to Themohawkninja's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Older tech: Cheap and easy to launch and mass produce New Tech: Expensive to launch. Nothing to prove, Just use common sense and basic logic. -
Do parachutes work in both directions?
Killerdude8 replied to Callmedave's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Setting them to an Action Group is by far the most Efficient Method for Redeploying chutes. -
A singular challenge out of the possible thousands weekly, Does not represent the Challenge community. As it was long before SLS, People will Ban certain parts from their Challenges, literally nothing has changed, You people need to stop over dramatizing the situation.

Has ARM convinced you to shelve the Mainsail?
Killerdude8 replied to 3_bit's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Nope. I still use it on my smaller rockets, SLS is Overkill sometimes, Don't see a need to have so much Extra power when it isn't Required. -
What is the most cool part in new ARM update
Killerdude8 replied to Pawelk198604's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Definitely the Claw grabber, Docking without docking, and other neat little novelty uses. Still trying to decide what to do with it though, So many possibilities.. -
OK, I hope this is legal...
Killerdude8 replied to kiwi1960's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Kerbals die so often, You might as well take the flag down with it being down so often.. -
Hmm. Not sure how to help.

Must be 256x160 and must be a .PNG file.

Satellite first.
Killerdude8 replied to Miro Beero's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Life support is something I'm on the fence about, On one side I can see all the neat things about it, But on the Other side, I see a bunch of determinants it has to offer. I am indifferent, I will not fight it, but I will not advocate it. -
New command pods/probes?
Killerdude8 replied to TJPrime's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Like a 3.75M Command pod that houses 5 Kerbals? That'd be pretty cool. -
Compared to when I started back in .19, This game runs like butter.. So smooth, Such framerate. Wow. Can't wait till 64 bit and Multi-core support.

Electrical problem.
Killerdude8 replied to Adampeay's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Oh, your'e using Mehcjeb. It's a mod, and mods can do that to your game. You could try save editing your Electrical Resource, That might help. -
Yeah. The whole reason why I love them is their effectiveness. No longer am I plagued with massive numbers of Orange tanks annihilating my FPS and therefore my enjoyment of the game. They are great Endgame Tier parts that are for those who have made it in Career, When money isn't an Issue and they can afford to launch these things. The parts aren't Unbalanced, The part of the game that would Balance them just doesn't exist yet.
-
Not on a comparable level to the new parts. I can build a Reasonable lifter in under 10 parts with the new ones, Before I'd required ~150 parts for the Lifter Alone, Even buffing the old parts would still leave me at +100 parts spent in JUST a lifter. My game can run better and therefore has improved substantially, Why is that such a problem for people? These parts are Really good and I'm glad they're stock, I hate modding.
-
The new parts aren't Parts, They are The equivalent to an Orange Tank Asparagus lifter, combined into a singular part. It takes an enormous chunk out of your parts count to build these lifters, Squad just added in a singular part to fill that purpose and MASSIVELY reduce the Part count. Again, Don't think of them as singular parts, but a Lifter combined into an Efficient method.

Spaceplane parts redux.
Killerdude8 replied to Killerdude8's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I'm not talking about an Aerodynamic model, I'm talking about a full on overhaul of how these parts look and work. In a bit I'll go take a Screenshot to emphasize my point. I mean look at it, It's just doesn't look right, Not to mention it almost never works well when trying to connect things to it that Aren't any of those space plane parts. -
I think it's time that you guys Redo the Spaceplane parts, They don't look very nice and don't fit together very well.

Increase Load Distance .23.5
Killerdude8 replied to Paperback Writer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
It should be a slider, All the way to the left, Current load distance, all the way to the right, 500km Load distance. -
Is the Orange Tank still your standard "yard stick"?
Killerdude8 replied to PTNLemay's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Orange Tank is the Standard Unit of Measurement, The new SLS tank is the Mile to our Yard. -
the ion engine is way too OP
Killerdude8 replied to lammatt's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
They're also a lot more powerful and don't take hours to burn. Ions take literal Real time hours to make burns, That's a bit ridiculous for a game. -
the ion engine is way too OP
Killerdude8 replied to lammatt's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Gameplay >>>> Realism. Whilst I agree, Current Ions aren't very realistic, They improve the Gameplay by quite a decent sized margin, You might find an hour Long burn fun and exciting, But most don't.
